Rather beat Sutton tomorrow, lose to Wycombe and beat Barrow.
The plastics can have their Wembley day out in May when winning there matters.

 

Why? We will get 35,000 tickets so why do you think it necessary to give anyone priority. They will be sold by ticketmaster or some other outlet and they won’t give a flying fig if someone went to Forest Green one midweek night.

Even if we lose, we've still seen what this team is capable of without our main striker. If we can play that against Wycombe, there is no reason why we can't go on and make the playoffs

 

Decent side as in mid table league one. Make no mistake we've made them look very ordinary tonight. Very rare I give praise like this, mainly cos we never play this well.

 

It goes one way. We either sulk, or take inspiration from the 2013 league Cup final and commit to getting to Wembley through the playoffs. Play to that standard regularly and the playoffs are on.

 

If Odour can continue with that sort of display we'll be in the shake up for a play off place.

 

Absolutely spot on. Best I’ve seen us play this season and although we’ll be disappointed with the result it cannot shadow the positives from that performance outside of been able to put the ball in goal.

Cannot be downbeat about that - we have everything.

 

All i can say is the standard has been raised now ..........play like that for the rest of the season and we wont be far off.

McDonald is a breath of fresh air when ever he got the ball it was a positive forward pass, I know this will sound bad but 3 times first half Smallwood had the ball just outside the box and not once had a go, he's proved in the past he can hit a ball for crying out load Ritchie have a bloody shot, although it was written in the stars that keeper wasn't going to get beat tonight.
Dust ourselves down and go again at Barrow , we owe them for their taking 3 points at Valley Parade.

 

Saw Peterborough last night and they were a different level to Wycombe.

Now just heard that Wycombe beat them 5-2 a few weeks ago.

Funny game is football.

This match reminded me of the league cup quarter final at home to Bristol City in January 1989. They had Joe Jordan as player manager and we absolutely battered them but we lost 1-0

 

Consoling myself, that we couldn't score in a month of Sundays last night, and their keeper was having the best day of his career. We weren't ever going to win the shoot out. Super game to watch, and we played so well. Suprised how lethargic Wycombe were. My only worry, is that with Cook back in the team, we revert to Plan A again. Looks like we've actually found a gem in Kavanagh and we should certainly look to aim the gameplay up front around him (via Oduor...who'd have thunk it?) rather than lumping it up to a flogged Cookie.

Saturday could very well be the turning point of our season.

 

Kavanagh is the missing link. He was everywhere. Winning headers. Cook and young will thrive off him.

who got the golden boot in L2 last year? Scored some amazing goals, most on the deck. One he took on half their team from the touchline!

He’s been below par this year and frustrating but people have short memories. He’d walk into any side in this division, given his record, and plenty in L1.

In the short term I take your point, in his current form he might not be a certain starter for everyone (he would be for me) but statements like ‘he’s useless at certain aspects’ undermine the rest of your valid points. Football isn’t for you if you think Cook is useless
