Streaming services piracy figures (not to mention the massive market for stolen logins) suggests no matter the price a large percentage wouldn’t pay anything. It’s one of the problems that the internet, its caused a certain amount of self entitlement where large amount of people think they deserve things for free

People will always pirate or copy something, its human nature for a lot of people. But if you brought in a single sports service at a fiver a month i guarantee piracy numbers for sport would drop. The price of all these different tv based services added together is the single main reason things like iptv exist.

You did say they weren’t available on iFollow. I think you meant they weren’t legally available on iFollow in this country.

The problem is you are paying criminal organisations for the service which is worse than just finding a free stream as you end up increasing the costs for legit users as the outlets need to charge more to cover their costs. And the people 'producing' the content be it a sports team or a tv/film production company don't see a penny and if it becomes enough of a problem can the reason something you enjoy consuming stops existing.

It's like those people who pay for a subscription-based adblocker. Some of them charge £10 a month and they just pocket that money for removing ads from other peoples sites. They don't redistribute that income to the sites in any way and it removes vital income streams for the sites these people consume when the user could just pay the sites themselves for ad-free. As someone who owns a few sites while I would rather users weren't running ad blockers if they are going to I would always prefer they are using free ones that aren't using their data in some malicious way than to pay a company for an adblocking subscription

Yes, I should have made it clear that it applies only to weekend broadcasts and doesn't conflict with Sky's and BT's broadcasting rights of particular EFL games.

The thing is the clubs been losing money and Rupp has had to put his hand in his own pocket. If he sells shares to fans you then can’t expect him to keep doing that unless these new shareholders were also on he hook for an equivalent amount.

I bet you there is very little forward planning in league one or two at the moment. It’s all about survival.

The EFL has been appallingly badly run IMO. On the one level they’re not getting their Dele Allis, Pickfords and Jamie Vardys without the EFL, their Harry Kane’s and Tammy Abraham’s aren’t getting loan games.
The big clubs don’t give a toss about the likes of Bradford City, but without clubs like Bradford City there are fewer fans buying Sky and BT subscriptions, fewer kids taking up the game and so on. It would be sustainable

The PL has only got its succes because of the strong EFL and lower leagues in this country. They are nothing without it. The competition down to league two and lower is what makes football in this country. And when you say it gives nothing back, have a look at where 90% of players who are now playing in the top flight who are English or homegrown and see where they either plied their trade or were plucked from the lower leagues.
Our pyramid is the envy of the world and the PL, as much as they like to think, did not create it themselves

Maybe. The FA has previously said that players cannot be registered with a PL or EFL club without a valid HO work permit. And the player can't get a work permit without the FA confirming that the player meets their criteria of being an established international player. They're caught either way.
