World war 3....

Any growing Nazi movement needs dealing with by any means necessary. I don't think there's a 'legal' way to deal with a militia of 1,500+ (not 900) Nazi's. What's the alternative, let them grow to 3,000, 5,000, 10,000? At what point does someone step in? Will we ever learn from history?

There's probably a bigger far right movement in France or Poland than there is in Ukraine.

Where have I said I 'sympathise' with Nazis? Anyone with any knowledge of my posts on this forum and on C&B before it, will know that nothing could be further than the truth. I've consistently posted against far right and Nazi views and actions over the years, including pointing out the overlap of views between the far right of the Tory Party and various neo-Nazi groups in Britain.

There are neo-Nazis in every country in Europe, including Russia and Britain. Large parts of eastern Europe have intolerant right wing views that verge on the neo-Nazi - hence the popularity of Orban in Hungary - but we don't invade them to purge these elements, do we?

The size of the Azov Battalion is quoted as 900 men on Al-Jazeera; other sites say 1000; some say 1500. Even if the larger figure is correct it's still tiny in comparison to the Ukranian population and to the size of its armed forces.

Yes, it's extremely regrettable and distasteful that one battalion of the Ukrainian army has Nazi motivation. But not as distasteful as using that tiny unrepresentative sample as an excuse to invade a sovereign country, flatten its towns & cities, slaughter it's civilian population by the thousands and force millions to flee as refugees. Try to get some perspective.

Youre the last person who would stand up for a right wing organisation. And the mention of this apparent right wing organisation within Ukraine is merely a distraction as to what is really going on.

 

Show me a country without a far/nazi/extremist problem.

 

Slightly off topic, did anyone watch the fund raising concert for Ukraine last night? I know the intentions are right and that people need financial help but am I the only one feeling a bit uneasy with this? My rational being that other fund raising schemes of this size tend to be for things like natural disasters areas of poverty. Russia should be made to pay for the damage and bloodshed caused with this illegal invasion, as it should with the rebuilding of Ukraines infrastructure. Hope the contracts to rebuild the country aren't given out like the PPE contracts were by Johnson, the buildings would never get built.

I didn't notice any celebrity fund raising concepts when we illegally invaded Iraq and Afghanistan.

 

Russia should be made to pay but I think the intention of the fundraising is to get cash there now.

as for the rebuilding I’m guessing it will be similar to post Iraq when the US funded a lot of the rebuilding only did so on the proviso that American firms got a majority of the work

 

Help supply weapons then get paid to rebuild the mess. Win win.

The Nazi Azov regiment funded by the Ukraine government as part of its armed forces and endorsed by Zelenskyy is that it almost exclusively is based and fights in the Donbas region fighting Russian separatists and the Russian speaking population, This is where Putin got his claim he was fighting a Nazi supporting government,

 

The killing of ordinary civilians looks dreadful but then the President asked civilians to fight supplying guns and ammo so we're they legitimate targets if armed
