I was at the Hereford match when he made his debut. I still to this day, proclaim there was a good player in him somewhere. In that match, he played a lovely ball inside their fullback for our winger to run onto.....but our winger (I can't remember who it was) just wasn't clued up to such an intelligent ball, and the pass came to nothing.
You could have asked him: did he think that English lower league football players weren't the same level as him? He certainly had the hype of a fan base at City. We were all willing him to score on the same level that we all were willing big Kai Brunker to score. Closest Billy came, was smacking the crossbar with an overhead kick. IF ONLY! And then there was this weird thing with some leg muscle problems, and after that his career sadly went only one way.Jay likes this. -
