Will we ever win again, not likely this season

Isn't it strange that the 14 players used yesterday were 100% not involved when we lost to Peterborough on boxing day 2017.

Since, 15 wins in 63. Just 5 from 23 in 2017/18 season (21%). 10 from 40 this season(25%).

Weve improved since the second half of the 2017/18 season in terms of win ratio. We've had 5 managers, 2 caretaker managers yet the same issues occur.

Is it just the legacy of Rahic? Is it just the squad of 2018/19 which is poor?

Or are their rivers that run deeper?

Fans, Rupp or background personnel potentially the issues?

I feel its too simplistic to just change the playing personnel ...

YES ......... We will Win again, this season. But way too late and just not good enough as a team to survive.

 

What puzzles me is why, in consecutive seasons, two completely different squads have apparently downed tools.

Owners, fans, ambassadorrs et al. We have a right to question the players, which I have it is it that simple?

 

That's the conumdrum. Have we just been unlucky to have signed two useless squads, though one was doing pretty well up to Christmas. Is it all down to Rahic and the regime he created? Or is there something else that we've all missed. Just looking in from the outside, I really have no idea.

Poor managers have not helped, We are now rid of the 2 Edin chose so lets hope this one does better (Although Rhodes has a poor track record in this )

 

Players have failed, managers have failed, backroom staff have failed. Fans?

 

Brand new playing squad would go a long way, I firmly believe that is the number one issue with us right now. The evidence speaks for itself.

Rupp will be sensible with us, his job is simple really, set the budget and keep us out of the sh*t, leave recruitment to the man he's hired. Squad clear-out is no.1 priority.

Make sure the players we do sign aren't walking into a basket case of a club, That's a job for Bowyer.

I don't think Rahic's mark is indelible and if things are done correctly, we can improve the culture of the club, at least try and get it back to something resembling the pre-Rahic days.

Butterfield. Looks a player to me. But not in league 2. Can do much better than city. In a decent side would be worth his weight in gold.

Mellor. injured. Has contributed 1 belting goal + what? Doesn’t stop crosses.
Wood. More miss than hit. Get rid.
Clarke. Bit harsh. Hasn’t had much chance since returning. At least gets the club.

Other than o brien and butterfield at least these two come across as trying.

I think the river runs deep but the cause of it rests on the shoulders of one man. The whole culture of the club has been damaged by Rahic. Everything that was good about the club has systematically been removed by him.

Rhodes knows this and has already confirmed - in last weeks T&A - he is on with recruiting staff and implementing the structure that was in place prior to Rahic's intervention.

Bowyer will be allowed to manage and have sole control over player recruitment and Rupp has confirmed he is once again committed to funding a competitive budget.

All sounds great but the whole ethos of what the club once stood for needs to be recaptured. Get that right and the club will have the chance of a bright future again.
