The way we going at the minute we be in conference next year, made me wonder where we would play? Ground share with avenue? Won't be able to afford to stay at valley parade. If I was Gibbs I would be keeping a close eye on what's going on it's like having property with social people in guarantee housing benefit coming in, if we go down no rent coming in effect his pension pot. What do you do with a stadium that big in manningham? Gibbs buys club back security assured seems no brained no Rhodes added bonus for him as didn't get along

It would have been interesting to see what Gibb would have done if he had been sole owner, that's for sure.

I think that ship has well and truly sailed now though.

Gibbs wanted progress and investment, Rhodes wanted safety and comfort, Rhodes won by sending the club in to Admin.
I think it is pretty clear we would be in a better place

Gibb could get rid of Rhodes as he's an employee and
wants to go anyway.Doubt he would want to buy the club
but good point made, his tenant is in a bad place at the
moment and if we go down then VP will not be feasable
    from a financial perspective.

I personally think Gibb was unfairly maligned by a significant section of our support. Given the amount of abuse that has been sent his way over the years by some of those people why on earth would he want to get involved?

I agree. He has previously said that he has no interest in being involved in the club. His interests lie elsewhere.

I think the players feel like that too.

Could the club afford to not stay at VP? Are the attendance likely to fall that much? The average last season was only about 1k down from the season before in League 1. Let's say you lose 4 times that number you would still need a stadium that seats over 10k otherwise you are leaving money on the table. Horsfall is way too small, as is Dewsbury so outside staying at VP or moving to Odsall which from what I just read was costing the Bulls more than you pay for VP

Could we afford the £500,000 per annum ground rent on non league income?

I was just imagining the ground IF we get relegated. What's going to be our attendance then? Do you think it would stay the same? Personally, relegation or not, numbers are going to be down, mainly due to this seasons woeful performance, the treatment of the fans by the board, and the continued fear of Covid.
I think the days of 15k average attendance have long gone.

You sold 13k season tickets last season, it was down to 9k this year but that will be artificially low due to COVID and grounds being closed and people just not feeling it was worth buying a season ticket (The season ticket was only cheaper than buying follow for all the home games IF you were the only ST holder in your bubble and not buy much. 2 or more people could club together to buy every home iFollow and a bunch of the away ones for the price of the ST).

So let's say fans are back in the ground next season, I would be surprised if you aren't selling 9K season tickets. If the price is frozen that's what £1.3mill. £1.3mill is more than 500k. if you go and play at Horsfall you will still have rent and the most season tickets you could sell is 3240. 3240*150 = 486k. Almost 1 mill down if you sold 9k season tickets and you would have no room for on the turnstile sales that were on average last season boosting attendances by nearly 2k.

Also if COVID restrictions are still in place at the start of next season having a bigger ground would be a plus. If you are restricted to say 50% of the capacity of a ground that is 12500 at VP. You wouldn't be less likely to be turning fans away

There were posts on here saying that when you were relegated to League 2 but it only saw a drop of under 2k. I think you are underestimating how much fans of a club want to watch their club no matter how much pain the players and administration put on them

Victory for @SimonW@SimonW in this thread.

Moving stadiums is another delusional fantasy AND a bad business idea to boot.

It was the opposite all Gibb was interested in was promoting his main business

Bradford City would have to go into admin again to break away from VP. Non League = no club and starting again like Bury.
