This is a rallying call to the players.

    You have two choices lads,

Choice 1 - The easy option. You can go through the motions and play out these last 6 games, giving a half-arsed effort and move on to your next club with a blot on your CV. If you choose this option, i'll give you a heads up - there won't be many decent clubs willing to take you on.

Choice 2 - You stand up and be counted. There are six games to go, and if we win 5 of them we will likely stay up. What's better, going out with a whimper or making yourself an unlikely hero? Forget what the general consensus is around the dressing room, walk in there tomorrow and rally the players up, psych yourselves up, go out to battle and get the crowd on their feet, cheering, chanting. Get stuck into the opposition, chase down the balls, put pressure on, give 110% effort to get that first win of 6. You did it against Peterborough, you can sure as hell do it against Doncaster. Come together and make some great headlines. Be a hero.

    The choice is yours.

You make it sound so simple, which when you break it down, it is. This isn’t the premiership, it’s the third tier of English football. This squad is of sufficient skill level to compete in this division, but all that means nothing when you don’t have the desire to implement the skill.

I agree with you completely. My worry is there are too many that checked out far too long ago, still playing in integral positions. But, you never know. If they had any sense, many would be thinking of their own careers and this being opportunity to put themselves in the shop window as you say. There are more and more footballers struggling to find a clubs, based on how badly many of these lot have played so far this season, they risk going the same way!

Chicksen has been fine lately. One of the better players in the last 5 or so games.

Are we too wimpy to call out Jack Payne for going missing since January? Is he a more awkward target? Diddums, he's been way worse than Chicksen.

Sorry Jon, not having it. Chicksen is a disgrace, his "performance" against Blackpool, along with NKP, was the worst I've ever seen from any player at any level, it was truly embarrassing.

Payne has been poor by the standards he's set, but I can forgive him for that a bit considering up until only a couple of weeks ago, the mantra of the team was to boot it over his head all game. That and he has at least two players up his arse whenever he has the ball.

Poorer than he was in the first half of the season? Yes. Worse performances than Chicksen? Not a chance.

Chicksen has been no worse than the others and Payne’s display against Blackpool was very poor

rubbish. There's a reason Bowyer dropped him and NKP.

This squad is not of sufficient skill level to compete at this level, its the primary reason we are cut adrift at the bottom of the division.

Classic example of a mind already made up, sides chosen and facts ignored imho.

Not that that's rare in Britain right now lol.

There's a reason Bowyer dropped Payne and subbed him at half time.

If you're suggesting how Bowyer treats players shows he values them, he would be seen to value Chicksen higher as he's played far more minutes.

    What facts are these?
And the only reason that is, is because Woods and Wood have been injured. Woods started above chicksen in Bowyer's first game remember.

So you think they're equally out of favour?

    Fair enough, hadn't considered that.

Payne is out of favour because he's out of form and Bowyer prefers Butterfield and doesn't want to play both.

Chicksen is out of favour because he's utter crap.

Doesn't really add up though. Both have been first choice for long periods under different managers.

Both got replaced in January by Woods and Butterfield.

Id say both are in the same situation.

Disagree, I think we’ve got a “good” enough squad to not be relegated, skills wise....The mental attitude of the squad is the kicker, and they ain’t going to change now, no matter how many rallying cry threads are posted up. They don’t give a shit!

The team can't defend and can't score goals. Its the most physically weak and slow squad i've ever seen at Valley Parade. We're not bottom because of lack of effort, we're bottom because our squad doesn't compliment itself on any part of the pitch. A centre back pairing the worst i can remember, the dodgiest of left backs, our right back back options were woeful until Caddis came in. A powderpuff midfield held together by what was an untried 19 year old when he came to the club. No physicality up front to hold the ball up, only bit of pace we have is Miller and he has the ball skills of a 2 year old with a balloon. No pace to hit teams on the break, painfully slow when attacking. No width to stretch teams either. The players realise this, its why mentally they are shot to bits.

First job next season for Bowyer is to get the spine of the team right. That means at least one, hopefully two centre backs that complement each other. A central midfielder that gives some protection to those new centre backs. A striker that has the physicality to cope with lower league football ( A Chuks Aneke type player). You can fit a few of this squad into the positions left but its only a few, it really is a poor squad.
