What should the club shop sell, which it currently doesn’t

Agree, it's not always raining and nothing ever like German cold! There is no need or incentive for anybody to get to VP until shortly before KO, and, with the pubs where fans used to congregate, long since closed, it should be an easy task.

 

Don't go giving the peasants ideas like that please.

I agree with you but you would have to change the mindset of the supporter base. In other countries its customary to get in and around the ground early, the place is usually rocking by the time the teams come out. Don't see that over here, its all very British and stiff upper lip. If you lived a street away from Valley Parade you would only realise there was a game on because of the noise. Otherwise you'd probably miss it.

Another thought on merchandise could be the way we present it.

My thoughts were for a more 'cartoon' usage on some of the goods especially children's wear and/or some of the more novelty items such as lunch boxes flasks etc alongside the more traditionally badged items. Not purely as novelty but as an exercise in design.

What about women's wear ie: a subtle hint of badge design or colour within the item, right up to party wear.
Same principals attached to day wear/casual clothing for men and women, perhaps taking the idea into more dress items for the men too. Once again alongside the more traditional and traditionally badged and designed apparel.

Gives a broader customer base and could well make the club shop always worth popping in for a nosey, get you impulse buyers then the lifeblood of retail.

Make them affordable and they will fly off shelves!

Strangely, I was thinking about City car stickers the other day. The one I haven’t seen for quite a while, and arguably the most common one in recent years, is the Promotion to the Premiership sticker.

Long shot, but if anyone has one - unused, let me know. :thumbsup:
