There seems to be only 1 person who believe's that price tag, but they were sold a pup at the time of their initial purchase

I don't think anyone does, not even Rupp. He is blind if he thinks the club is even worth what he paid for it. I think the point is it would take 10m to buy the club and provide the investment some are asking for....build a training ground etc

I don't disagree with you. My point is I can't imagine anyone prepared to make the sort of investment that would be needed to grow those assets at today's Bradford City

If you ignore his contract situation, he's probably worth 500k.

He's not young enough to command a million, and he cannot play against Championship defenders.

It hurts his value that he's scoring while on loan, rather than at his parent club, who don't need him.

Regarding the Malaga scenario and relating to us, would you have forgone the promotions from league 1 to the premiership and the subsequent seasons in the premiership if, in hindsight, we had known that the outcome was admin after admin?

    Disagree.

Football is a loss making business unless you do it right like Liverpool and City etc

You've make sure you invest in youth(Edin wasn't far off in his master plan), invest in assets and build the club up commercially. Don't be scared of rivals in areas like Leeds and Town etc, be positive and highlight you're bigger or act bigger.

Bradford City acts cheap, negative and like a CHARITY hence why it's where it is and gets nowhere!

You can't expect to get your money back.. that's madness. You have to take the hit and move on if you're not a serious player. Serious players do what I have said above and that generates money.

You're are ways good for a laugh, can you remind us all how Rahic in your words "was not far off his mater plan", you go on about assets just what assets did Rahic leave Bradford City, his master plan got us relegated to a lower league than when him and Rupp bought the club, some plan.
Go ahead @Fordy117@Fordy117 the floor is your ?.

    You're being very hopeful, Fordy

If owners want to make money from football, the only way to do it is to do whatever it takes to get into the Premiership. And that will cost money and lots of it. But the rewards are enormous; these days, over £190mill just from Sky for a single season in the PL.

For a club which isn't already in the PL or isn't receiving parachute money from already having been there, other than being very, very lucky, the usual option is for an owner to subsidise the club, possibly for several years. The owners might 'invest' in better training facilities etc, but it's subsidising the losses resulting from playing budgets (typically around the £30mill mark now or if you like10 times the size of ours!) and far exceeding the income of the club which might bring success with a bit of luck. That's how Town did it, how Bournemouth did it, how Wolves did it and how Burnley did it. And equally how Forest, Derby, Boro, Brentford and Bristol C are still trying to do it.

How much owners have to subsidise their clubs in the Championship with just a hope of reaching the promised land is just eye watering.

I know what he was pointing out and it was a disaster for our club, taking monies from where it should have been spent on strengthening the first team squad.
The first sign of one of his development players scoring he gets a 3 year contract on the back of his goal against Blackpool, yes Rahic's master plan was not far off.

You've completely (and deliberately?) misinterpreted Fordys post. He didn't say Edins plan nearly worked, he said Edin wasn't far wide of the mark when he came up with the actual plan.

You need to go back and read it. Especially the line immediately before the brackets.

As I said, you've either not understood or deliberately misinterpreted.

The silly salaries were the thing that killed him, everything else was pretty much bang on the money. The risk on ground developments was a necessity that we are able to take advantage of to this day. As for a new owner committing some of their own money Stefan Rupp already has in his purchase of the club. Not that it will be on spending level of Richmond but BFG realised quickly that, to back up his grandiose plans and the time scale he claimed, he needed to spend big. I don't ever envisage another owner ever doing that again in my lifetime.

@NorthernMonkey@NorthernMonkey is spot on with my thought process.

I'm not saying Edin got it right but he wasn't far off. He didn't explain or carry it out correctly.

Looks like you were right. Wetherbywhaler has corrected what he said originally to make it clearer.
