So with cost of getting to the PL in mind the club moaning about the cost of a new training ground or stadium highlights a bad position that club really is in in terms of drive.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -

We're talking about the future of the club and how to protect it. Currently this club isn't protect as we own no assets on or off the pitch.
Also read the title it's the thread is about the owners plans for the club.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
He lent money to someone for a reason and if that reason was to make profit I don't know but football isn't a profit making business really.
We need serious people running the club and people that want to take it to the next level to safeguard the clubs future.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -

Now, as for Mr Rupp I am sorry that he has now interest in football doesn't wash now. He decided to be joint owner for a reason and now he is sole owner he needs to have an interest. To be fair to him he does attend some games and I believe he does watch the games on the internet if not there.
You say he did the honourable thing but like @NorthernMonkey says the Mcbarnie money wasn't the right actions but this is what happens when you've no assets you act scared and want to make sure the owner is happy.
In to football or not.. what's his plan for the club? Mr Rhodes break even balance sheet isn't a plan now. We need better, we need more to make sure we safeguard the future of the club and move to another level.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
Most football owners do invest heavily into a lost making business. The thread is about the clubs plans for the future to make sure as @Dennis says are just not ticking over. It's an important thread.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
Who knows maybe Mr Rupp is looking for investment but Mr Rhodes break even plan won't take us forward and in 10 years maybe the club could be left in a difficult position.
You've the likes of Luton, Lincoln, Brentford etc all moving forward. Yes the main aim of the club has to be get in to div 1 but when you hear that we need a run in the most Mickey Mouse competition in football then it's concerning. Taking the McBurnie money is concerning also.
We can't just tick that's the point.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
Rupp bought into the idea of being a football club owner as it would give him prestige and also would bring him a profit by following the Rahic plan. Unfortunately he was so gullible to believe this without taking proper advice and by letting Rahic have a free hand in running the club. Now it would appear that he is willing to sell the club providing he receives what his initial outlay was, and maybe a little more if he can get it. In the meantime he is only prepared to put in what Fordy describes as enough "to keep it ticking over". So that's it in a nutshell. As I see it, the only way forward is to have people in place running the various aspects of the club (commercial/hospitality/income streams etc) who are super efficient at their job and bring in revenue to the club. This revenue can then be used to take the club forward. Until this happens we just stand treading water.

It's about finding an owner that's serious about the club and want to take it forward.
No one is saying buy the club and build x straight away but buy the club and have a plan to invest in it. Raise funds etc.
Buy assets to increase the value of the club and protect it.
So what you basically are saying is Mr Rupp is good for nothing because he has money(150m) but we just tick. The point of that is?
I believe that the golden oldies like @Bronco think I have seen Bradford City for 50-60 years, I don't care now, I just like football. Well I am younger and I want the club moving forward and for generations to come. Not just tick!
The club needs a better plan!Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
Meanwhile, we have @Fordy117 coming over as a spoilt brat with his "I WANT" attitude.
Sorry Fordy ..... But if there WAS any serious investment heading our way, I'm sure we'd all have heard about it by now. So "I WANT" will get us nowhere. As things stand, there are NO takers ......... So we're left with what we have. We need and have to work with the resources available to us. To progress (albeit slowly), the fixed/set cheap ST's need to stop. An annual increase of at least 10% should be employed, for starters. Even in 10 years time that would still make BCAFC good 'value for money' from a Spectators point of view.
We need to exploit ALL possible means of commercialism, and use our stadium. I know current BCUDC (The Council) are impeding this - but let's grow a real big pair and Challenge these fools who purport to be pushing the City of Bradford in a forward and positive direction.
We ALL WANT - Yet there is SO much more we CAN do, with a bigger pair of balls, and a will to actually do something rather than just moot a bloody notion.
Herr Rupp may not have City in his heart .......But the very Senior members of his key staff do. Here's hoping some can come up with a few viable plans to keep us more than just treading water. If SR was duped by a charleton like Rahic, then surely his 'trusted' staff can influence him, positively ?Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
Bottom line is that we were 1 or 2 games away from promotion to the championship a few years ago. If we go up this year, and keep momentum, we could challenge for promotion to the championship again in the near future. There wouldn’t need to be a significant change in the spending/budget to do that.
The championship is a different beast though and that is when we would be seriously needing investment. However, if we could survive a season up there then the revenue would start to come in and we would then look like a much more tempting club for someone to buy. A few million investment and a lucky season (eg Huddersfield, Blackpool, Cardiff) and we could hit the jackpot of the premier league. All pie in the sky at the moment but for me, until we are in the championship, we aren’t getting sold to anyone with any money. -

Definitely not expecting anything (happy to have a club to support and all that), but definitely would like something to happen which propels us in the right direction. -
