Similar to welcome to Wrexham I suppose.
What a dirty decrepit shit hole this city centre has become. Not unique to us but I don't recognise the place any more.
    Quite sad really

My sister works at the bottom of Sunbridge rd.
This is what she sees out of her office window.
A woman has set up her accommodation in the doorway opposite.
She even has her own little cat ornament(near the blue bag)
My sister is expecting a rug or bedside lamp to appear before the end of the week. IMG_22011.jpeg
They have to walk in twos to the Broadway car park when it’s dark as it’s just full of druggies and alcoholics round there.
Horrible place is the city centre.

    Sadly it is everywhere.

The area around my house has turned into drug central in the past six months. A policy of moving people outside of the city centre and there not being enough police to prevent low level drug dealing. I've been in the area twenty years and it has never been like this before.

Shocking. Would love to know what the Shadow Minister for Crime Reduction, our very own Naz Shah thinks about

No doubt she will turn a blind eye to this.

Society has changed a lot in my life time and a lot of it not for the better. I think there's a fine line between having the utopia of a society where we can do what we want without fear of intervention from law enforcement and yet having a society that is ultimately lawless.
It doesn't help that the conservative rule of the past decade has seen cutback after cutback on services already struggling to cope. Things like drug dependancy units and youth services done away with, policing having thousands of officers cut. Throw in the mix a softly softly approach to low level crime to a point where its not even challenged. Hardly surprising we see the levels of anti social behaviour and drug problems we see now.
I genuinely worry for the next generation of kids coming through, living in a what is a socially engineered experiment. The values my parents took to their graves, hard work, honesty, integrity, a will to help others seemingly not that important anymore.

Don't think many on here would be surprised to learn that funding for it is being spent out of Bradford
Regeneration of the City at its best I suppose
Good luck to them pushing the "Local" angle whilst prospecting for sponsorship

Imagine believing it wasn't all for personal profit of the corrupt councillors!

And before anyone intervenes, I'm not for one minute that they're any less corrupt than the majority of politicians we let govern us every single day.

It is what it is and the best thing to do is to get as far away from Bradford as possible!

Hulme sadly has had a very problematic past. I remember it from the 80’s. A difficult Place then. https://www.manchestersfinest.com/articles/hulmes-notorious-crescents/
If what you say is correct (and l have no reason to disbelieve you), then it is reverting to its former style.:(

Non specifically to the capital of culture (yet) but these are all within the last 6 months and there's many, many more nation wide.

I wouldn't trust and politician or councillor as far as I could throw them and if you've any sense, you wouldn't either!
