Of course. He was around for a lot longer than just the 90s.

I first came across him when I was a student in the 80s. I'm somewhat ashamed to say that we used to call him the 'Mad Monk'. He was also known as Jesus, and various other names. His real name was Geoffrey Brindley.

Used to see him as far back as the 70s walking by Undercliffe Middle on Otley Road when I attended there. Always had a cheery wave for everyone.

He was around in 1966 and maybe earlier.

I remember him walking around Thorpe Edge and we moved to Undercliffe in 1966.

saw him at a folk festival in Whitby in the 70’s. He’d walked all the way from Bradford.
The chip shop at the bottom of Emm Lane always gave him a free lunch whenever he turned up.
Also known as the Happy Wanderer.

Always just knew him as Bradford Jesus didn’t know there were so many names for him, once saw him in the city centre it was like meeting a celebrity haha seemed a nice mild mannered bloke. Always rumours floating around that he lives in a cave but god knows what’s true with these stories.
