I've seen somewhere on Facepest that he was red carded after the game. Can anyone shed any light on this?

    Wouldnt surprise me.

There was a lot going off after the final whistle. Players from both sides charging into our Changing Rooms, what was all that about?

I presume Vaughan was seeking to return the favour to the player who "assaulted" him and got sent off. He ran straight to the dressing room after the final whistle, hotly pursued by Bowyer and most of the players from both teams. Apparently Bowyer said they wanted to swap shirts!
    More entertaining than the match.

The ref was on the pitch after the final whistle. How could JV have been red carded if the ref saw nothing?

Somebody in front of us in the main stand said that Vaughan had punched one of their players and then ran straight off to the changing rooms hotly pursued by them and Bowyer gesticulating to him to get in the changing rooms. Saw all the sprinting but didn't see what had caused it all.

I dont see vaughan as the type to run off from an altercation. Quite rhe opposite.
It looked.to me that vaughan was after the lad that got sent off after he tackled vaughan from behind to get his 2nd yellow.

Whatever Vaughan has or hasnt done. We dont need lack of discipline from any player. Pointless suspensions is something we could do without, especially to a key player, and captain, who should set an example

I posted Vaughan was a great selection as our Captain if he could control the other side if his game and unfortunatly its looking more and more like he can't, his game is all about aggresion which is great if you now how far to take it.

I think it was one of those games where we seemed to get punished by the ref and forest Green seemed to get away with most of there antics. Vaughan will have got more pissed off as the game went on and then when their player went through the back of him just lit the fuse.

Taking this set of statistics as being accurate. https://uk.soccerway.com/players/james-vaughan/2885/
He has had 4 sendings off in his career 2 second yellows and 2 straight red cards. He has also raked up 61 bookings.
At one stage late on in the game when Richards-Everton started to get exceptionally angry, it was Vaughan who pushed him away from starting a potential fight.
Difficult to say, but he does ‘play on the edge’ and his behaviour could attract a lot of referee attention!

Love Vaughans passion and committent. Great choice of captain. Just a shame he’s being made to play behind a dysfunctional midfield.

That's where we are going wrong! In front of a midfield, preferably functional would be better.

We have attackers that can stretch a side and mix it up physically. Our defence generally looks good as a unit, a bit weak distribution wise and our keeper looks the player we thought we had really signed. But jeez that midfield. I’ve only missed the Stevenage game so far but after watching it back and seeing the others there isn’t one game where they have impressed me. The attackers, centre backs and keeper have.

    Agree.

So many fans sensed it from a mile off too. devine hasn’t broken into the team properly in all his time here and Akpan has never nailed down a spot since he arrived. Anderson has never fully convinced, nor Gibson. We’ve dropped a league but all four still look backup options, surely?

I guess we just have to pray Cooke, Devitt and Palmer all click, either as a three or if two are picked to play with Wood and Scannell in a 4-4-2, as there can’t be much room in the budget to mix things up again now?

I love how this thread has turned from a post about Vaughan and his “sending off”, to a post about how shite our midfield is. Again.
