    Anyone seen that we are set to announce Vaughan as captain?

    Taken the armband in recent friendlies.

    Thoughts? Or does it not matter for some who is captain?

    No qualms here. If he has the respect of the dressing room and he leads by example I don't see an issue. Looks like he loves to graft and has a good attitude.

    Good appintment IMO, James can be a hot head at times let's hope the Captains Armband reigns him in a bit when he thinks he's been hard done by.
    With his vast experiance over the years their are few if any in our squad who can match his time in the game at every level.

    He’s got experience at a higher level, which instantly commands respect from the rest.

    You look at some of the rubbish who wore it last season and he’d be a big improvement.

    I could be chatting here but im pretty sure only the captain and the offending player are allowed to talk to the ref before a booking. Doesn't stop them getting surrounded most matches

    Remember Stuart McCall, Gary Jones for example?

    Thats what a captain should be-a leader, motivator and bollocker (is that even a word?).

    Sadly over recent seasons we have not had one hence our current position. Last season it was so noticeable that we had no one on the pitch to bollock those underperforming.

    Off the pitch a captain is/should be an ambassador for the club.

    I agree, Bowyer puts him in a good light too.

    Think that might have been a reason why Vaugan signed here as he touches on being a captain/leader. Does seem like the kind of bloke who would give someone a right bollocking too!

    Better than our previous three captains... all from last season.....
