Again, not really answering Ahar's question.
I would guess based on what Rupp allegedly said to a fan on Saturday that he is more interested in making the club more of a saleable asset than looking for new investors.

    saleable asset = tangible assets

at this time the most important factor to the clubs survival and I am not scaremongering, it’s a fact, is the fan base.

at this time it is fractured to a point the club won’t survive another season in my view as a league member. Sacking another manager will just expedite the outcome. Rupp is delusional if he thinks city is a saleable asset in its current form.

as I said, this weekend should see new headlines being made.

And what if there are no new headlines this weekend? Does that mean there's nothing on the way?

I'll be honest, I don't have any insights. You?

If it means the club goes under to get rid of Rupp then it might have to be a price to pay. There are clubs further down the line than us, club such as Reading. But lets not kid ourselves we are on that road right now. Fans not turning up will hit Rupp in his pocket and will send the message more than any protest will.
The situation needs fixing now before the damage gets worse than what it already is. Cos that paper currently over the cracks is begining to split

The point I was making is that Rupp has allegedly said he is looking into buying back the ground. If there is some truth in that, I think he may have been advised that if he wants to sell, owning the ground would make us a more attractive proposition. That's what I'm hoping anyway.

I'm sorry Rog, but for me at least, going under is too risky and too big a price to play.

A bit of a rhetorical question, but how many clubs have gone under and stayed 'under'?

    1) GA clearly isnt up to it.

    2) Im not reknewing because I don't enjoy the football and Sparks/manager continue to waste all ST revenue on bloated squads filled with shite. Let them cut their cloth accordingly this summer.

Here's a thought, and it's only my thinking. If Rupp bought VP for say £5m, owning the ground might increase the appeal to a potential buyer, but I don't think it would increase the value to the buyer by anything near as much. Because there is so little potential to develop the ground further, and as has already been discussed it has no alternative use, so it's real value as an asset would actually be much less. Maybe a buyer, if there is one, would prefer to negotiate separately his own purchase or rental deal with Gibb, in conjunction with buying the club of course. Hope that makes sense.

I have no idea, but it in my mind it is still a big risk, although I do suppose football clubs are different to more conventional businesses.

Im not sure about that but relegation might be helpful.

Sell up, get rid of those in charge, get rid of all the deadwood. Practically start again. TBH its a shame we cant go down this season.

I admit I don't want it to happen, I just have an awful feeling it will only get better after Rupp and Sparks have left. I genuinely don't believe Rupp understands the feeling of the supporter base, either it's because he's shut himself off from it all or because he hasn't been told.

I know people think Rupp buying the stadium would be a good thing, but do we really want to be saddled with him like that?

I want him gone, to be honest. He's totally inactive.

Investors buy new businesses, because they see an investible plan for growth. The tangible value of the asset is just a feature of the balance sheet. Unless you're buying it to asset strip.

There's huge potential in this club, squarely because of its fanbase. But when that diminishes, the value and potential erodes.

As the Bulls found you only really get one chance at building an infrastructure off the back of a successful period. Parky gave us that chance to take this club to the next level, he alone gave the club it's soul back, the soul it lost after numerous admins and relegations. And that wasn't down to the owners, it was down to lucky home run off the back of a once in a lifetime period thanks to Phil Parkinson. It should have heralded the dawn of a new era, a club flirting with the championship.
Instead we are right back where we were just before Parkinson took over about 10 years ago, a lot closer to the national league than league 1.
Damn it pains me to say this but it was of the worst days in this clubs history when Rupp and Rahic walked through the doors at Valley Parade. Bar the first year of magic from Stuart McCall they've given us nothing but heartache and god awful football.

not true. Investors buying a business with fixed assets (ground, training facilities) see future returns ie saleable not just the negative side of asset stripping but the actual investment in such. City have little worth outside of potential as you say. That should reflect on actual worth. £10m is laughable.
    upload_2024-3-21_12-37-23.jpeg

This was the best it got under Rupp. Even then he trusted Rahic above the background noise that was there. Will he do so again with sparks? I honestly do think so. Change is upon us, whether that with Rupp is open for debate. Just don’t see him having 100% ownership next season no matter what. The club is drowning very very fast. Time for change has arrived. I expect to see an appointment that will galvanise the support. And this time it won’t be a season ticket push. If not then we are playing Russian roulette.
