Fling our doors open and welcome them all. Fast track paperwork system and get them here now. Let’s worry about sorting them out onto the system etc later down the line. We can do it.

We won’t. We absolutely won’t. We’ll take a few and tell the rest they should’ve stayed in the first country they arrived in. Not to worry, though, we’ve lit up Downing Street in solidarity, not that we like gesture politics that much.

 

Like everything else this government has touched in the last 2 years or so nothing short of an absolute lying shit show once again.
Just why do it? And then lie about what you’ve actually done and call it the worlds first? I mean who actually cares if we are the worlds first on something if no one wants it?

Get officials into Calais. Anyone who proves they are from Ukraine get them to the U.K. and sort the rest out when they are here. Show some compassion for a change. Get it done. Be world leaders on that

Saw a family on TV the husband was English rest wife and two Children were Ukrainian, Escaped to Calais to come to UK, Officials knew nothing about visas but said they had to go to Brussels, Struggled with kids to Brussels and did the identity paperwork then told to go back to Calais where they were refused again and told the visas were now in Lille so had to go there then back to Calais.

I'm not interested in what far-flung parts of the world are doing or not doing. It's pathetic that every other country in Europe is accepting Ukrainian refugees without putting visa hurdles in place.

Calling terrified refugees fleeing from brutal bombardment, 'literally anyone', is despicable, in my view.

 

There are plenty other places for them to go, we’re literally the furthest away from them in Europe. We’ve done our part for many other refugees, it’s not an open door into the UK and neither should it be.

 

Rubbish. We consistently take far fewer refugees and asylum seekers than other European countries, despite what the Mail, Express and Sun would lead you to believe. This is despite the fact that we're a far richer country than many of them.

 

Nah that’s nonsense. Open your eyes and half of town can’t speak proper English. My betting is you’re all cosy in some rich tidy white middle class countryside spot, pointing your finger here and there at others who should do this and that. You’d have a different perspective if your village was turned into a cesspit.

We’re also a far more densely populated and geographically smaller country than many of them.

 

But the vast majority of those who 'can't speak proper English' are not refugees or asylum seekers.

These people are our enemy. They hold the likes of us and the poor Ukrainians in utter contempt. How we get rid of them and fill the roles with people fit for purpose I have not got a clue.

Sorry to hear that RT, I don't love them but it's a difficult dangerous world just now with Putin having us all by the short & curlies....
