The Canadian and Estonian Red Cross organisations have set up dedicated appeals for Ukraine; I presume other countries' organisations have done or will do the same. Cash or suitable goods welcomed.

The Metro newspaper's website had yesterday an article on donating, with links to verified Ukrainian charities. You could also get to pages that would let you contribute directly to the military as well, whether for humanitarian goods or military supplies.

CNN's webpage also had an article collecting together a number of charities, some US and some worldwide, that could be used.
