Those results have strengthened our playoff position but made the race for the autos a bit harder.

    Yep.

Despite other teams having tough fixtures, Stevenage winning in particular is a bit of a disaster for us.

Carlisle vs Stevenage on Saturday will let us claw some points back IF we beat Hartlepool, then the game on Tuesday night is absolutely massive. Massive-massive.

Salford are going to have a big say, as they also play all of the top 3. We just have to hope they take points off some of them.

Still all to play for, but those sneaky 1-0 wins for Northampton and Stevenage have piled the pressure on for Saturday, whether Hughes and the players acknowledge it or not.

So, as I have been saying. We have to concentrate on ourselves then!

    We will beat Hartlepool.

Exciting to be in the hunt for a change though isn't it? Two home wins and it's all to play for.

That doesn't mean nobody would do us a favour, though.

Look at Sutton tonight. Form team in the division, only lost once since 17 December - until tonight!

Looking at all the teams above us is interesting, but Sutton were the horse coming up on the rails, set to overtake us.

Grimsby have beaten them tonight, and that's big for us.

We all know it matters what we do.

Good bet the current top 3 will not be the same at the end of the season. Leyton Orient have likely done enough to get automatic promotion but I don't see them as certain for the title. Hughes initial focus should be on reaching third as quickly as possible.

Last five games for Orient include Sutton, Gillingham and Bradford City away plus Stockport at home.. Quite possible they could get 3 points or less from this lot.

We have failed to win ten time out of seventeen home fixtures this season so far so if that sort of form Continues we will probably win one of the next three.
Hopefully we will play in a more positive way starting Saturday

3 games in 8 days. Are our old timers up to it?

Probably not I'd say which is why we should try and utilise the large squad we have a bit more.

    What do you mean?

This current starting 11 has three players that are 32 or older. With three that are 25 or younger.

As the three games in 8 days involves just 200 miles of away travel, as opposed to the ~1200 miles in 11, they'll be fine.

After all, largely the same team has got 16 points from the last 8 matches, playing more or less two per week.

I mean that on Saturday we looked tired and lethargic when we should have been going for the win in the last quarter. I believe Adam Clayton agrees

And in both matches subs were used and we didn't look any better. I trust Hughes to know how to use his squad - just because we've got a big one, doesn't mean he is has to use it.

We seem to have this 'look what we coulda won if only we'd done this' attitude. I've never known such a miserably supported promotion campaign. 16 points from 8 matches, but of course we should have been taking 24 - because, er, we're Bradford ;)

Then again, if you go on the boards of all our rivals and they're full of moaning fans - must be the political climate and life after Covid.

We've been down this road already on the Newport thread. You are happy with the performance. I thought we could have done more to try and win it, be it through substitutions, tactics or just trying harder. I say again, it appears from Adam Claytond comments in the T&A, he agrees with me.

Never said I was "happy" with the performance. I think I could use that description in less that 25% of matches, I've seen City play at D4 level, i.e. Stevenage, Salford, Mansfield and perhaps Colchester

Satisfied, that they're getting as much as they can out of matches - is more like it.

    Anyway up the Bantams!!!
