4 games in league 2 taking place tonight that all involve teams that we would need to catch if we are to pull off the miracle and finish top 7. For MK, Gillingham and Wimbledon it means playing their game in hand with Morecambe playing 1 of their 2 in hand so we should have a bit of a better picture by the end of this evening. The games are:
    • Wimbledon vs Crawley
    • Gillingham vs Stockport
    • MK vs Wrexham
    • Walsall vs Morecambe.
Currently all 0-0 and ideally there will be wins for Crawley, Stockport, Wrexham and Walsall.

    Good set of results:
    • Wimbledon 0-1 Crawley
    • Gillingham 0-0 Stockport
    • MK 1-1 Wrexham
    • Walsall 3-0 Morecambe
Keeps the gap to 7th as 2 points with both Harrogate and Gillingham (7th & 8th with a negative goal difference). Only Harrogate, Notts County, Morecambe and Accrington have games in hand now so worst case scenario is they all win them and we are only 5 points off 7th.

Saturday now becomes a really big game, Barrow are on really bad form and if we can win we'll drag them into the play off race which is what we need with so many teams in with a chance.

Interesting to see Stockport having a mini wobble. Only 1 shot on target in tonight’s game!

Like I've posted before, we play 6th, 10th and 12th in the next fortnight with Donny at home in between.
Big IF's but we can make some real ground whilst passing others.

Good result for Walsall. Only three points off the play offs and will overtake Gillingham in 8th and Harrogate in 7th with a win due to their better goal difference.

By the way they are in 16th position.

See how these "x points off the play offs" can be misleading stats!

A lot of teams near the top seem to have bit some bad form, this is the top half of the form table for the last 5 games, only 3 of the top 10 are in it.Bizarrely we are the highest place side to have won their last match with all 12 sides above us either losing or drawing their most recent game.

Wouldn’t put it past Crewe to catch Stockport. Everyone is focusing on Stockport, Wrexham and Mansfield but all three can have off days

I don't think it's misleading, it shows how tight the league is and how open the last 1 or 2 play off places are with a lot of 6 pointers coming up including Walsall vs Harrogate, Barrow vs us and Accrington vs Crawley this weekend.

Not really because if the other teams win too then they're back down to 13th.

The number of points is a factor but the number of teams also above us makes it even tougher. They can't all lose every week!

8 wins from last 13 games and we take a playoff place 100%.
It’s in our own hands, we must not give up and we don’t need off field distractions like protesting against the regime.

Think it also shows why Carlisle are in their current position.

Agree. That's my point. My attempt at sarcasm was poor!

It can be misleading because people quote the "3 points off the playoffs" in a way of saying if we win then we'll be in the playoffs but in reality half of the other teams in between will win.

Also if Crawley, Newport and Walsall get a point from their game in hand then we go back three places.

To put our current situation in some form of context, on 4th March 2013, we had played the same number of games and had two more points and an even better goal difference. However unlike now we had games in hand over the surrounding pack. We scrapped into 7th place at the end of the season. It is a huge ask, to expect City to get into the Playoffs this season.

Wrexham were let off yesterday by some terrible linesman decision. It's another Jack Payne vs Sunderland one. Cant believe this one wasn't given on the video, the lino is at the corner flag too, he is looking right across the line and seeing the keeper in the goal, his gloves and ball are clear as day behind the netting and doesn't give a goal.

Another example of the abysmal officiating in L2. Getting beyond a joke now

Its like the Lino at VP on Saturday...how many times did he flag for offside despite not been able to keep up with play - 3 or 4? Pathetic standard

They had some lucky breaks in the last couple of games.
