Why do the club allow touts to sell unbranded goods within vicinity of the club taken money out without putting anything in. Big Geoff would never have allowed it.

What makes you think the club allows it?

How are they going to stop them? Send a couple of big blocks round and beat them up?

During the Richmond era I am sure they were able to block them within a certain distance of the ground

    How?

Only the council can do that? Richmond probably threatened them or paid them off

Once in a blue moon the street hawkers come out to play.
Let's face it not much call for an half and half against the likes of Exeter or Cheltenham.
Today there was a captive audience don't blame them trying to cash in.
The club doesn't have control of the streets around the ground.

Here is the area where it is restricted to those with licenses only.

If you see anyone you think isn’t licensed you can report them to the council.

Not sure if the club have got the permits either? Maybe you could contact the council with your concerns.

Forget exclusion zones, reports to the council or sending the heavies round, the most effective way to get shot of them is not to buy 'owt off 'em.

I’d love a Bradford C / Cheltenham half and half scarf. Where do I get one?......

Should have seen all the tat sellers at Celtic yesterday. I’m sure some young uns left with a memento of today, in that respect it’s hard to get too annoyed, but i do understand the frustration that nothing will go towards the foundation. It was probably tricky for the club to get enough stuff together to sell it themselves. It’ll be back to just the bloke selling the pin badges soon enough though.

They are not touts (reselling items such as tickets) but vendors of unlicensed goods. You can sell items which allude to Bradford City unless the club has the equivalent of copyright or trademark. So the current club crest would I assume be protected. However a woollen hat in Claret and Amber would be difficult to protect.

If you are unhappy with the goods do not buy them.

Must admit I have bought a coupe of enamel badges from the vendor on Manningham Lane top of Valley Parade who stands next to the programme seller. Are they ‘licensed’?

Even Man Utd have this problem, The huge concourse outside the club shop is owned by the council and full of traders doing good business with Man Utd merchandise, Am sure Man Utd would love to stop them but cannot as they do not own the land

There is an argument that if the club shop stocked a wider range of products, rather than just replica kits, training gear & cheap crap with a badge stuck on, they wouldn’t be a gap in the market for the likes of ‘badge man’ to fill.

Retro shirts, badges, quality clothing been missing from the City shop for years, including well before ‘him’ .

One of the things that ‘street vendors’ have over the Club shop, is that they are ‘in the street’.

The club shop is in an area where most fans are actually crossing Valley Parade to get into the stadium.

Yes it is close to the ground but doesn’t have a site which catches the eye and most supporters by the time they get to VP are focussed on getting into the ground.

Perhaps ‘Pop up’ style shops actually on ‘the street’ is the way forward. There are probably a few prime sites.

    I would suggest:
    • Top of Thorncliffe Road/Manningham Lane
    • Top of Valley Parade/Manningham Lane
    • Bottom of Thorncliffe Road/Midland Road
    • Midland Road/Holywell Ash Lane
    • Bowland Street/Manningham Lane
They could sell some small stock and maybe have ‘sample items’ of what is hidden away in the club shop. Perhaps incorporate with programme selling.

People need to think ‘outside the box’. One for @Glenn Ackroyd@Glenn Ackroyd to consider?

That is a great idea especially for big games. There is profit to be made which can help the club

Will always be a gap in the market because of cost, club has to operate on bigger margins to recoup overheads. What overheads does a street seller have?
