Oh you’ve gone and done it now....

Personally, I still think it’s far from certain. January is important. Bringing back Doyle should strengthen us AND weaken Swindon. We’d be made not to do it. We need to keep Cooke and Connelly. And I’d have said we needed another midfielder too, but if Reeves does come into contention then that may not be necessary. We still have Palmer, Reeves, Devitt, Donaldson to come back. They should all play important roles.

We simply have to go up this year. Bring back Doyle and maybe add 1-2 more of quality. Yes it’ll probably break the budget, but you’re talking about 100-150k impact. That’s the sort of financial risk we’d be made not to take if we’re in and around the top 3 come January.

 

I sincerley hope your right Jon, but 35+ yrs of supporting us I cannot share your fulsome optimism.
Definitely take 3rd now though.

Swindon aside we couldn't have hoped for better results today.

We're in a really good position but don't think we can get too excited. Is so tight and a couple of bad results could really change things.

That said I'm really pleased with how we're doing so far especially considering all the injuries. Get Donaldson, Devitt, Reeves and Palmer back from injury and hopefully recall Doyle and suddenly our squad looks much stronger.

 

Recall Doyle, keep our loan players, get everyone back fit, and the only addition I think we would need to make is a right back.

 

The fact is we are in a good position even with games in hand. Hopefully our horrific injury list wil clear and then we can really push on

 

That’s the area of concern. I actually still think Riley could be the answer, long term. But if we can find a decent one on loan for the second half of the season then it’d be a good one to do

 

Barnsley maybe,but Huddersfield will be fine,will finish mid table.

We've no excuses for not going up automatically.

If we don't go up this time we will be stuck in this league for years to come.

Can't agree there mate. He's okay going forward but poor defensively.

 

Agree. RB isn’t a priority for me. Mellor has had a shaky start but between him and Henley I feel there’s enough there for what we need this season eg. I don’t see our season being decided on by RB position.

 

We've 4 away games out of our next 6.

I would rather points than games in hand.

Next up in the league is Plymouth away and that will be tough for us.
