    So I have been critical of the ticket office on occasions over the past few years, but not today. This morning I went down in person as the online system wouldn’t let me buy for different age categories

    I was getting Grimsby, Salford and Walsall tickets and the poor geezer serving me (Mick) seemed just as perplexed by the change of systems as the rest of us. I was there a good 10-15 mins as he kept getting so far then it was clearing the basket. And there was a queue behind me too. How on earth can Sparks deem this a logical idea??

    Under normal circumstances, I would’ve been moaning and chuntering at the staff serving me, but these are not normal circumstances are they! I smiled throughout, and reassured him it was fine every time he apologised for the delays, and upon completing my transaction I told him they were doing a fantastic job with the shit that has been forced upon them

    As I said they are probably even more pissed off with the changes as the fans are, as it is clearly making their everyday jobs much much more difficult. If anyone is going to go down, please don’t vent your anger at the guys in the ticket office, cos I bet they are getting so much grief for something that is out of their control

    I asked if it was that Townson bloke who was at fault for pushing through the change, and was told it was the person above him who is to blame. In other words the clueless twit below Rupp

    So anyone thinking Sparks is getting unfairly criticised by our fan base, just try asking anyone working at the club what they think of him

    I'm surprised you didn't buy your friend a ticket for the Good Friday game at home to Tranmere as well whilst you were there ;)

    It was also a good gauge to see how many people were genuine about not attending for the rest of the season, to see if they’d offer. Ah well

    Nice to see someone understanding of the unmanageable factors that often confront those in customer facing roles.

    Most people are decent like this, but some are clueless and just get angry at the person in front of them who are trying to help.

    There is no excuse these days for implementing an IT system that doesn’t work properly. There’s a thing called Functional Testing where you test all possible user scenarios in a live-like test environment before launch.

    It’s not necessarily down to City to do it, but they should make sure it’s done and it should be written into contracts. To be honest it sounds more like shoddy workmanship by Ticketmaster.

    But yet another failing of Sparks so not surprising in the slightest

    Yes you would think so. I think the key word is due diligence - but I expect City don’t have a technical specialist in house, so we have non-IT people buying IT systems.

    It’s quite common for businesses not to have internal IT staff and they rely upon external IT professionals or advice from the software vendors themselves….just ask the post office

    Apparently the new Director of Ticketing worked in IT for a while so should have some knowledge of the principle of pre-implementation testing of new software. Well OK and more precisely, he worked on the IT help desk somewhere. :thumbup:
