Tibor Szabo?

Yes never quite made it at City a few first team appearances but a well known and respected guy around Bradford football circles, Bradford 147 from the C&B knew Tibor .

 

He used to live next door to my best mate when I lived in Wyke. Decent bloke...His daughter was nice too.

 

Good footy player. Wyke manor lad.

 

Yeah I remember Tibby, I also played football with his older brother Frank.

 

After he left City, Tibor spent some time in the non-leagues and then went into teaching. He went into Sunday Alliance league football where he stood out and helped a number of teams work their way up the leagues. He spent some time in the US running football academies but came back to the UK and went back into supply teaching.

 

As kids, or adults?

 

I played with Frank at Wibsey Junior School when we won Bradford Junior School Trophy at Park Avenue in 1968. Knew Tibor as well. Both good players.

my uncle is frank who is my dads older brother

my dad (tibor) started his own coaching academy in early 2000’s called vision

 

Sadly, Tibor passed away recently, and unexpectedly.

I'll share details of his funeral arrangements once they're made, for any friends or contacts that may wish to attend.

 

Sorry to hear that mate I know we've spoken in the past about Tibor, what I remember of him he was a nice guy and well respected within the game and certainly in Bradford football.

 

Tibor's funeral will take place at 11.30am on 2nd Sept, at Scholemoor crematorium
