That will bugger up a lot of people's Blackpool plans, especially with trains usually stopping a lot earlier on strike days.

The worst part of it is, the revised timetables aren't even released until a matter of days before which makes it difficult to re-arrange travel plans at short notice.

From memory, there have been no Bradford to Preston/Blackpool trains on previous days. If that is the case then it will be very difficult to get there and back, by train, on the day.

From looking at when the strike was on for the Blackburn match the only way to get to blackburn was getting a transpennie train from Leeds to Manchester then to Blackburn as there was nothing from Bradford to Lancashire. Worth noting that the new timetables that came into force recently have changed the route that used to be York to Blackpool and now apart from first thing and late at night it's only Leeds to Preston so even if the strike wasn't on it would still require a change at Preston to Blackpool.

The strike timetable, for the first of the three Saturday's (25 August), is now up on Northern's website https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/strike (scroll down to the bottom of the page for the timetables).

Expect similar timetables for 1 and 8 September, which means those wishing to travel to Fleetwood/Blackpool and back, by train, on the day, will probably need to travel via Leeds and Manchester Piccadilly. There is a remote possibility that Northern may add extra services on the last two dates, but it is unlikely.

There is also still a chance that the strikes will be called off, as Northern Rail have invited the RMT to talks at ACAS but, as it stands at the moment, the RMT are saying that they will go ahead.

I just wish the buses and taxi's into Bradford from Wilsden would strike on matchdays.
