    in any system offensively.
Wingers are often criticised for weak or non existent defensive diligence but when arriving mid season into developing unit they may not be being allowed to operate where they want to be but where they think the management want to see them.
The new boys in charge have many issues and shapes into which they are trying maximize our offensive performance.
We need to take the pressure off particularly Crankshaw and allow him to carry the ball and cross which are things he can do.
Stop trying to make them the end product and allow them to be seen in the group as primary sources of positive football.
I remember when Beags arrived it took Jagger to find out how to use him because he used to drive centre forwards mad by not crossing it at the first second or third opportunity.
Jagger got the word out to get the ball to Jacobs and he then got it Beags on the halfway line where was supposed to be and we could play from there.
Alex Gilliead was the only other winger who created a shape into which we attacked. He carried the ball from halfway to the edge of the box and got us up the pitch in shape and we could play from there. Gillie keeps showing us how much we miss him in most games we see him including last night when his first touch resulted in perfect pass from midfield to an on running front man to score basically unchallenged

Apologies if I'm missing it but I've read the post 3 times and still don't actually understand the point you're trying to make.

We've got wingers on the pitch but they don't seem to be able to do what we would like wingers to do, carry the ball, provide width and feed central strikers...is it just them, tactics or both?

All I know is the crossing has been appalling, and that includes the full backs.

If memory serves correctly, AOC is putting in the best deliveries lately!!

Is there any point in our "Wingers" actually crossing the ball.
We have seen from corners both offensively and defensively that our players hardly ever get to the ball before the opponent does.

I’m waiting for your annual rant about lack of marketing and that VP being half full is a missed opportunity.
I’ll stick my neck out here and suggest that VP won’t even be a quarter full in August and not because of Covid, but because people are bored with the crap we get served up season after season.

I'd be amazed if we don't sell 6000 ST's regardless of the football on offer.

Well depends how many of the 9000 season ticket holders feel they’ve had pants pulled down this season.
Fobbing everyone off with an ifollow pass with no option of a refund whilst failing to invest in the team pre-season is not the best way to encourage renewals in uncertain times.

We get told by the sages every year we aren’t going to sell this many or that many and the end figures are always better

To be honest, I'd kind of forgotten I even bought a season ticket this season or that season tickets were a thing.

This season (and the past 18 months) have been so bizarre, I can't say I've really been weighing up the pros and cons of such a purchase. Now that you mention it, I don't feel even remotely ripped off, though. In order to feel ripped off I need to feel that someone has obviously benefitted at my expense.

I'm pretty sure that's not the case, or even close to being the case.

What's the point in crossing to one striker against 3 in the box? It's no wonder the lads are tired when they've to sprint 30 yards to try join the attack from the halfway line, only for the move to breakdown and then have to sprint 60 yards back to stop the counter.

6,500 attendances at VP games next season? Really? Bloody hell mate, you're putting a lot of P into pessimism.
