At season ticket renewal time, I am faced with choosing where, or whether, to buy one. As I no longer see what is the premium of buying a seat in "the suites" I have sent an email to the ticketing information address to ask just what it is that you get extra for 180 supplement, or 160 for seniors.

I am not complaining so much as asking what you get extra for 180 pounds. This what I wrote:

It is season ticket renewal time. However, conditions have changed since I first bought my season ticket in the suites.

I have been in block EXJ for years, firstly with a flexi ticket when I was still working in Belgium and more recently a full ST.

Until last season, I could go in the 2013 suite, right behind my seating block and there was time to get a half-time drink and food. Now I am turned away from the 2 suites behind my block and directed downstairs to the McCall and Hendrie suites. The one time I got half-time refreshments downstairs, there were long queues and by the time I got my food & drink I missed the start of the second half and that very rare thing, a Chapman goal.

I have tried since to get half-time supplies but by the time I got down there the queue was too much. I asked one of the people on the doors what to do and he directed me to the kiosk at the top of the stand, out of the suites area and where there is no ST supplement.

    Questions:
    1. What is the point of paying a 180 or 160 supplement for suites if you have to leave them to buy stuff in the "ordinary" seating areas?
    2. What is the premium or bonus I would be paying for by renewing my seat in EXJ?
    3. Why should I have to miss part of the first or second half making time to patronise the club's facilities?
    4. Could there not be at least 1 suite open upstairs for those in my block?
    5. I have now taken to bringing my own pie from the local pie shop and filling up on real beer before arriving at VP, because I don't like any of the beers/lagers on offer at the ground, so what is the sense in City driving away my custom?.

I have called at the reception twice this season and spoken to a Steve, asking just what I am paying a supplement for. Both times I left my membership number and phone number and Steve said somebody would contact me. This never happened.

I disagree with being turned away from the suites nearest to my seat. Please answer my points above, or direct my email to Ryan or somebody involved in public relations.

So, what is the premium? What have I missed?

At least you're getting the choice whether to use it or not. I've been charged a 50% increase to use that suite and I sit in the Midland Road stand.

Try get a pint in the suite and back to your seat for the second half kick off from in there!

I’ve been trying since tickets went on sale to try and find out if anything can be done to take my son into the suites as there are no tickets available online.

not even an acknowledgment from my numerous emails

Not sure if it will help but I'm clearly not using the one I'm entitled to so maybe ask if it's possible to use the seat I'd be entitled to? Or do I not get allocated one with my 25 year ST anyway? I'm not really sure how it all works but if I do get allocated a space up there now I've renewed you're welcome to the seat.

You know where we sit, I'm sure the 2 seats directly infront of us (same row as @Onside@Onside) are not taken, as over the season so far they're either not taken or taken by different people on a match to match basis, they will be EXJ G 0162 and 0163, your only problem is the guy sat behind you gets quite excited at times and has been known to clap sing and chant , give it a try.

I thought about it overnight and decided that I get no added value at all from the suites and that it is a waste of 160 quid, 180 if I were not a senior. I found 1 isolated seat and will now be closer to the pitch, down in block D.

So my seat in EXJ (which always had somebody else sitting in it) will be free next season. Time to meet some new neighbours.

    Another thing:
Who are the people occupying the 2013 suite that I used to frequent?
Are they friends and relatives of the staff? Do they pay for their food and drink? Are they as profitable for the club as the large numbers of suite-payers who used to be paying customers?

The motif for increasing prices was that the suites were "almost" loss-making.

Maybe ticket office could confirm that the occupant of EXJ E161 will be sitting somewhere cheaper next season, if you are looking for a more expensive seat.

I've always been in these suites and yes they are far from great, but to try for an answer to your question 3 you can pre order and pay for your HT drink before the game so when you enter the suite at HT and the bar queue is huge your drink is ready and waiting for you at the near end of bar with your name on it.
I agree the price increase is huge but I only hope they police the entrance better to stop non payers going in and inflating the queues making it sometimes impossible to get a drink.

Mia that people entering from the stand? I always think there seems to be a lot of people coming from behind the EX seats in, but just presumed they had tickets

The problem with the bars is you aren’t allowed to watch the game through the windows can you. Used to do my head in in the Bantams Bar, they’d put those blinds on to stop you watching. That was seven or eight years ago.

    nope, it is illegal.
Ones in the main stand don’t close their blinds but they do look over the car park and not the pitch

The boxes at the front of the stand do though, unless you request there to be no alcohol in the fridges and then you're free to leave the blinds open.

The FA's I think. It's illegal to consume alcohol while watching the game so if you ask for no alcohol in the fridge you're free to watch the game from the box. If not, you simply choose the blinds and if you want to watch the game go outside into the seats.

You don't know the password for the wifi in the boxes do you? I’ve never had the pleasure of going in there.

Absolutely gasping for a signal of some sort at the game - gasping more than @Bigrod@Bigrod is craving an IPA at HT!

I thought I'd read Ryan saying he hoped to have WiFi in the stadium before the seasons end, maybe a couple of quid for a WiFi connection during the game.
