Something one of my sons mentioned when it was announced that they are now the duke and duchess of sussex;

How come nowhere up north gets used for a title?

Never really gave it much thought but you have prince of wales with duchy of cornwall thrown in; Prince eddy is duke of wessex(a made up mixture of hants/wilts/dorset;Prince william is duke of cambridge and there are a fair few of them known as Kents.

I'd guess Essex is being kept for one of Prince andy's sprogs beatrice or eugenie which means there wont be much left southern wise for georgie or charlotte or louis.
Maybe Prince of Berks(hire) will go down well.

Whats wrong with a duchess of yorkshire or lankysheer or a duke of durham?

Whether you are a Royalist or not, the wedding was a much better spectacle than the damp squib of a cup final, that's for sure
