    That's probably more to do with how busy Liverpool is on a Saturday night rather than the quality of the hotel itself.

    I wouldn’t even buy a 300k plus house in Bradford, so no chance with a 3m hotel.

    I doubt that. They're all amazing buildings but none of the Britannia hotels are actually kept or maintained well sadly.

    That's pretty standard/on the cheap side for a city centre hotel at weekends, these days.
    We recently stayed in York and a bog standard pub with rooms, with average reviews, was asking £200 for a Friday or Saturday night stay. They charge £70 on weekdays.
    We're off to Belfast next week and wanted a city centre hotel for one night on the Tuesday. Nothing under £220. We've ended up in a cheap Airbnb.

    Britannia bought Hollins Hall just before Covid, the lack of investment is glaring anytime you visit a Britannia. Terrible company.

    I was assuming a charismatic local entrepreneur would be snapping it up.

    No John sold The Midland Hotel and bought the old Mecca turning if into Penningtons where he brought over many 60s artists like Chuck Berry Jerry Lee Lewis and many more he then sold it in 2003 and it became The Town and Country Club.

    Knew his wife I think her name was josie but could be wrong from Rock and heifer turned a pub dying on its feet into a big success. Fantastic giant Yorkshire Puds. Wasn’t Johns name linked with city at one stage
