Reform are going to implement a private prosecution and have written a letter to Yvette Cooper the Home Secretary with regards this on going or shall we say not ongoing situation, here is a video from the Black Belt Barrister explaining the situation with regards the bringing of a private prosecution but also the success of bringing a private prosecution, it's a 24 minute video but the really interesting bit is in his summary where he says at any time the CPS can take over the proceeding and shut it down, although perfectly legal it would not go down well with many members of the general public, lets not forget this incident happened on July 23 that's 9 weeks to go through the video evidence and make a call with regards prosecution, the exact same video evidence that got the PC given a suspension as yet we don't know for how long.

The Manchester Police have given the CPS all the information they have weeks ago according to this barrister, you have to wonder what's taking so long for them to come up with a decision one way or the other ?.

Yeah, I've heard the same thing that the CPS can just take the case off the private prosecution.

Why is it taking so long, who knows, it was delayed initially because of the IPCO investigation that was going on at the same time but that has all gone quiet too.

I'm not sure endless speculation and politicising of the case is helping it and any defence lawyer worth their salt will be pushing the chances of a fair trial are being deminished with the endless speculation on it.

With the footage of it, it seems a no brainer to bring a charge on this, and if required on the reaction of the police officer as they are two separate incidents and charges.

Twitter seems to be awash at the moment with morons who know nothing about law asking dumb questions like "why hasn't the mugshot of someone not convicted not been released" and so on. Some also don't understand the concept of guilty and not guilty pleas.

Having been involved in an ongoing case where the arrest was made in 2018, I know how long this takes as a charge in this case was only made this year and the trial isn't even scheduled for another 12 months.

The speed at which the CPS moved with the 'riots' has somewhat distorted things, cases usually take years to get to court now, what with such a backlog in the court system.
