For me it's the lack of risk. There could be someone run down the entire touchline but then rather than trying to cross the ball or pass to a team mate or, heaven forbid, shoot. The stop, turn around and pass the ball backwards.

They wait to shoot until the percentage chance of scoring is seemingly higher. That's what kills the excitement for me. I'd like to see the run, the attempt at the cross/pass, the shot even if the possibility of scoring is low, who cares! Get the excitement level up!

I like attacking football. Yes defence and keeping the ball is important, but when it is overplayed like PL it is boring to watch. We appear to have lost that edge that excitement in English football.

Yes we keep saying that , yet it’s the most in demand and watched football division in the entire world . That’s why it’s awash with TV cash.

Nobody can explain that , yet it’s boring to some. I can’t get my head round the conundrum.

Personally I believe, it’s got the best combination of technical ,attacking football there is. Only German football comes close. The rest of the world seem to think the same?

Tbf though Kev, the EPL became the most watched league a number of years ago now, before Pep came along and once a league becomes so watched it is unlikely to just lose top spot as despite these foreign fans not been from the areas, once they pick a team they usually stick with them. When Pep was at Barca he played the exact same way as he does now, as he did at Munich and the EPL was still the most watched league before he introduced his way to the EPL. Some fans may like it, but English fans in general often like higher pace games, for instance Kelly made a tackle near the end of the season and it got a standing ovation! No other country gets pumped up like the English for the physical side of the game.

Can’t disagree, it’s the attacking and technical side combination that attracts. Spanish football has the technical side but not the cut and thrust of the “ attack” like English football. English football is still the leader imho.

It's the big traditional names like Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, now Man City. The international market doesn't care for the rest, they'd prefer to see those big clubs playing the big clubs on the continent every week such as Bayern and Real. To be fair the likes of Celtic and Rangers have bigger worldwide than bases than most of the premiership, it will never happen but hypothetically I'd love to see a premiership division with those two in it

And that's the crux of the issue - the international market has become more important to the PL and FA than it's homegrown audience. This year's FA cup final a case in point.
