He did a magnificent job at Burton first time around but it hasn’t really worked out for him since then.

Judging by their performance when we played them and the results they are now picking up, you would have to say yes.

I guess the real question is, did the Mansfield hierarchy conduct an interview process or was Nigel on the speed dial of one of the directors?

Maybe that explains why Sparks is the CEO. An experienced appointment would've insisted on being backed with the funds to bring in the right people whereas Sparks might has been told to create his own funds and not to ask for anymore.

Do you believe that was Rupp though? I will hammer Rupp because the man deserves it. He is a joke to this football club. A disgrace!

However, you have to remember that Rupp doesn't know what he's doing and wants to leave it to someone else to run.

Who was the CEO leading the ship and informing how a club should be run.

How do we turn this situation round as a club? Does anyone have some ideas of how we might do this?

There's no quick fix. We need a complete reset from top to bottom.

Easier said than done but at the very least you need a vision and a plan that everyone connected to the club can buy into and feel part of it. Thats from an owner who will support progress at the club, a CEO who has the ability to deliver this vision and the initiative and galvanising impact to lead all the employees at the club and potential commercial opportunities, a Manager and Coaching team who have the skills to develop a style of play that can be successful and motivate the players, players who are committed to doing the best for the club and pride in their own performance, and fans who can see all of the above and get behind it.

I know there is a lot more than this but theres my take - how many of the above points do you think we are currently achieving?!

Sparks needs to make sure McCall is on board with this too because on Tuesday night, he was giving the impression he thinks everything will be hunky dory when the injured players are back and the need for new recruits is minimal.

    Yes, lots of ideas.

It all starts with the off field team, and there's been a ton if discussion.

I know pretty much exactly what I'd be doing were I advising Stefan.

In normal circumstances I would agree but the extension should never have been offered in the first place, so on that basis we absolutely should be starting with this to rectify the mistake. If January goes wrong then we are in very serious dangerous of being relegated from the football league, can I ask you on what are you basing this notion that keeping McCall would allow us to have a more successful window?

I cannot disagree with your 4 signings although I assume that you have missed off a striker in your list, however I should also point out that this fact was blatantly apparent in the summer and yet McCall was happy with this squad. Just one basic example of this is - Fil Morais was available in the summer (I am by no way saying he would be the answer) and given where he lives and having spoken to him on many occasion - he would have come and been cheap. McCall chose to renew the contract of DMH!

I'm not 100% sure having McCall in this window will result in success. I just think it's better to have a confirmed manager in place for the next season if we are looking to get loans in with a view to permanent signings in the summer. I agree that he hasn't exactly earned his extension, but we are where we are.

I am in support of a new striker in the next window, without a doubt. Minus 5 on the goals column tells me that, let alone the countless missed opportunities in games. I honestly don't think we'll get a good one. Remember Pizzagate?

If we do go down, do you think we'll cease trading or will we just be stuck in non-league for ever?

The impact of relegation will lead to another relegation into the National League North in my opinion. I don’t think our club would do too well dropping into the National League, it’s no bed of roses down there, I dare say we’d struggle with this current squad if we were in the National League this season.

We have to avoid relegation at all costs, but alas, this club is well on its way as things currently stand.

I wouldn’t be overly worried about losing Valley Parade, I doubt that’ll happen, Stockport County had their loyal fanbase bringing a good few thousand people in to fill seats. Our fanbase is much bigger and I reckon we’d still get at least 10000 average in attendance. Also BT Sport televise a lot of National League matches so we would have money coming in from that. Makes me wonder if that is the secret aim of the club behind the scenes, it better not be, but who knows ? I wouldn’t put it past them at this point.

Certainly the first ex Premiership club, though not the first club that has graced top flight football. We could follow The Stans in that respect, what an embarrassment that would be for our City

Wouldn't feel too bad if Stuart got real, stamped his feet and threw his weight around using his playing record and up to now the respect of our fans to get the powers that be to get their heads out of their arses and fast.....

I’m just estimating based on previous experiences when we have been in this position, I don’t think anyone of us can predict accurately what the attendance will be, time will tell if we are relegated. D:

How have I lost it ahaha? That estimate isn’t me trying to be an optimist, I just remember reading official attendances at the club being 12000 last time we were in this struggle in League 2? Maybe I’m wrong I don’t know but I was literally just making an estimation, I don’t think it’s fair to say ‘I’ve lost it’ I’m just merely estimating what I think we could see in the National League, plus Bradford is a big city with a loyal fanbase.

If you read my other posts this season and my threads you’ll see I’m not at all optimistic at the moment, I think this club is in trouble and I foresee relegation if things aren’t changed quickly.

Pay your money and take your choice. Assuming Sparks is on £50k then Baldwin would be worth at least 10 times that.
