According to Steven Warnock, "The big thing, for me, when I went into the club, was that it is not run properly."

“The training ground is shared with a school, you’re sharing facilities with the school, you can’t go in the gym when they need it. The training ground is a school pitch, if they want it, then they use it.”

“These are little things that managers have to juggle with all the time, the players don’t know where they’re going to be training from one day to the next, or whether they’re going to be able to use the facilities that they need to use.”

“Often, you’re eating school dinners as well. This is meant to be a professional outfit, but it’s not good enough for that level, or for a club of that size."

That's shambolic if true, especially the school dinners part. But, we're not lucky enough to have an Andy Pilley type owner like the likes of Fleetwood have who just spend millions on a new training ground and academy, so it'll have to do.

I have never heard other managers other than Grayson complain Parky wanted an all weather pitch and got it.

Imagine if they didn't have the use of the swimming pool, 3/4g pitch plus grass pitches, canteen facilities, gym etc and we only had a portacabbin and the grass pitch still. Now that would be horrendous.

The training facilities and set up were the same during the 'glory years' ?

The years we made it to the League cup final, promoted to Div 1, beat Chelsea and Sunderland in the FA Cup and made it to another Play Off Final?

But now the team is on a downward spiral an ex-player is using it as an excuse.

    Sorry this is nonsense.

    that is a shambles.

    we are absolutely tinpot.

colour me shocked that the usual happy clapping brigade are calling it lies or excuses. theyll never believe anything that paints the club in a less than stellar light.

He is of again. It's a load of Rubbish. Of course if we had lots of money we could do better but it's more than adequate for our level

Whilst you're right, that this isn't an excuse for failure, I do not expect a professional football club to be feeding their players school dinners.

More than adequate for a League 2 side.

Also Warnock is used to Premiership/championship quality, Burton train(ed) at St George's park.

It's not. We've got a Championship level ground and capacity. We've got Championship level crowds in L1 and now L2. We've got a tinpot bloody amateur training set up.

I always thought the pitch as you go into Apperley bridge was for exclusive use for Bradford City.

School dinners...... I bet they are better than the dinners I was served at my public school.

I'm feeling for the poor cherubs.

it's more than adequate for a club of our level??

come off it. i don't think it's adequate or acceptable for any full time professional football league outfit to be operating like this.

I can confirm that they are much better than the standard school dinner food, probably on a par with eating out somewhere.

how many league 1/2 clubs will access on a daily basis to the facilities down there? Its not ideal that on occassions they'll have to adapt there training but the facilities are extremely good.

Strange how Grayson's comments about the facilities were looked at as an excuse to get out yet now an ex loan player has mentioned it it's suddenly a big issue.

Sounds like a complete exaggeration to me. Its not as if they will be served a plain baked potatoe and jam roly poly.

Did he say anything else about the club not being run properly or was it just that we rent training facilities ?

    strange? how?

it could be construed as a 'get out' by Grayson, but when someone else talks about it aswell it's easier to believe there's an issue.

and I'm sorry, but a professional football club should not be using the local schools footy pitch for training, and they certainly shouldn't be having to move training because the kids are playing rounders or something. it's absolutely tinpot. the least a player should expect when signing his contract of employment with us, is to know where he is going to go to work!
