    The players put in the effort and show some desire. First half closing down, putting the blocks in, restricting space, working hard from front to back.

    Even so we were looking a yard slower than Peterborough and our movement with the ball wasn’t great but that’s to be expected with a team low on confidence.

    The crowd respond to the hard work, the volume goes up a notch and the players noticeably respond. Suddenly we’re a yard quicker than them to the ball and we start making space for ourselves. Then we score and we score and we score.

    All that was different was a bit of desire and commitment. The confidence will come with results. They’ve put a marker down today, keep that standard and we’ll stay up no problem.

    Personally I think that is the best I have seen Doyle play for us. He was outstanding and worked their defenders until they dropped. There were many MOM today which is great. Also take a bow city fans we were also outstanding, we even put the ref on the rack as well;)

    I agree - Doyle’s best game in a City shirt - was close to MOM but Butters was outstanding

    What is it with these 'refs' , didn't notice him til second half, then gives half a dozen or so 'nothing 'free kicks to peterboro then just couldn't wait to give 'em a penalty...so it's not just when we are losing...

    I’ve seen a replay of the penalty decision on Twitter. He clearly takes the ball clean, there is no way it could have been a foul. I think the ref had money on Peterborough to score.

    Ref did us a favour actually. He gave a few unjust decisions against us in a short period of time with the game at 0-0. This fired up the fans, and the players responded by stepping up another gear, and we scored soon after.

    But yes, the ref was crap!

    Doyle's record shows he's a decent player and if he has the right support up front he can score goals.

    As we all know, he cant play the lone striker role. It's a shame Hopkin didn't.

    aye, they got a bit on top of us in the first half but we pissed all over them after that. Played with real purpose which was nice to see
