Apologies if this has already been posted, did a search and nothing came up,

But this is a great watch

Really hope we have him again next season.

    Great watch. Thanks for posting.

It's a funny one with Tayo. Whilst I'd love to have him back, Richards is at a similar level and developed a lot last season.

Left WB wouldn't be a priority area to strengthen for me, and if Tayo does come back it will be harsh on Richards.

It's been a problem area for years. Richards has had issues with injuries since he's been here so whether Tayo returns or not, we are definitely going to need decent cover for when Richards inevitably breaks down.

I'd be interested to see if Richards can play LCB. That was his position in the Wolves academy and if we could also secure Tayos services for next season that's a partnership that could potentially blossom.

That partnership could work but I really like what Richards does in attack. He is always looking to beat his man. So do we think Tayo could play LCB? :grinning:

Great lad though he is I think it's significant that his best performances were in the early days of his loan when he was an unknown quantity in league 2. As soon as this was noticed most of our opponents worked out how to negate him, his effectiveness dropped off considerably and he was often subbed. Given that Stockport also thought that he wasn't good enough for them in league 1 I'd be very cautious about taking him on again.

I think a lot of the times he came off near the end of the season were more down to use chasing games like Accrington and Port Vale so it made sense for him to go off and Wright to come on, we'll also see more subs these days with 50% of the outfield players likely to come off.

Looking at the stats for the league this season Adaramola outperformed Richards in most of them:
    • Assists 3-1
    • Successful cross: 32.4% - 21.9% (Adaramola 11/34, Richards 14/64)
    • Average carry distance: 13.9m - 12m (Richards does outperform Adaramola in amount of carries/90 15.15 - 9.85)
It does show that Richards get forward more but when he does his end product isn't as good, Adaramola gets forward less but has better end product. Tayo has got more potential for me but his 1 big area for improvement is confidence of attacking the full back more rather than turning back to the LCB or CM which I think is highlight in the video by both Crystal Palace and Alexander.

The left centre back can also be quite high if we continue with the same formation.

Just think how often Crichlow or Bryne on the other side were high up the pitch and crossing a ball in.

I don’t think it’s harsh at all. It’s football. If we can get better then we should get better for all positions and Adaramola is better than Richards

Certainly agree with that. Undecided on who is the better player though. I would certainly be happy with those two as our LWB options

I really like both tbh. Think Tayo has a better ceiling though. Richards is very awkward looking and erratic

You seem to have missed Richards goals? Or was that last season?

I agree with all that you say, but currently when fit I think Richards is more effective

Nope. At the moment, when fit, for me Richards edges it. Now it depends how Tayo kicks on

Of course we should get better players wherever possible. I assume that we don't have an endless pot of money, and whilst we would be light at LWB without Tayo, I dont think an upgrade on Richards is a priority area. A reasonably priced loaned Tayo would be welcome though.

Richards is great but a sick bay ranger.
