If Trump was our leader, we would have had much less of the mess of the last 3 years trying to leave the EU. We would be out now and have trade deals in place with the likes of the USA.
Our economy would be thriving and political opponents such as Corbyn and Swinson crushed

Yup. Utterly disgraceful and ridiculous decision to double cross the Kurds who were so much a part of the defeat of Isis.
Trump at his vindictive and illogical best yet again.Allotment Bantam, Idlebantam and Bronco like this. -

As you say you have to have sympathy with the Kurdish fighters they help get rid of Isis with little help from any other middle eastern country and then they are left to fight on two boundaries, Syria pushing up and Turkey pushing down.trevor likes this. -
Not sure the release of ISIS fighters is a threat, The Kurds will not release them only to fight them again, Am afraid the camps will be found empty as they are moved or otherwise dealt with, The cheering of the wives may be premature

This is what you get when you entertain the views of the far right. All Trump fans should take a look at their belief systems now hes proved what a crim he is.

Trump is right in that the USA cannot be there forever, The Turks have 3.5 million Syrian refugees in Turkey who Turkey wants rid of and they in turn want to go home they cannot stay in the camps forever and a permanent solution has to be found, The plan is for a buffer zone in Syria where they can go back to Syria and be integrated safely, It is far from ideal and may get messy but the situation has to be resolved locally by the nations in the region without the USA forever been there forcing a solution, It is hard on the kurds but either with or without the USA Turkey was always going to try move and defeat an enemy they hate and the Kurds will fight on for a homeland until a peaceful agreement is come to by both sides

The biggest issue in all of this is the Kurds turning on the West. After receiving training by the West. A situation we have been through in the not so distant past.

So, having pulled out troops and given the green light to Erdogan's ethnic cleansing, Trump does a volte face to protect US oil facilities.
The man is a moron and a buffoon, who is nowhere near fit for political office.
"Trump sows more Syria chaos – In a reversal of Donald Trump’s order to withdraw all troops from Syria, the US is reportedly planning to deploy tanks and other heavy military hardware to protect oilfields in the country’s east. The most likely destination for US armoured units is a Conoco gas plant near the city of Deir Ezzor. Julian Borger writes that it is likely to require more troops than the roughly 1,000 whom the president promised he was “bringing home” by letting Turkey invade Kurdish-held territory. The Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is forcing Kurds out of north-eastern Syria and wants to resettle it with Syrian Arab refugees. The mass demographic change – carried out at the barrel of a gun – risks prolonging Syria’s conflict indefinitely, says Jan Egeland, the UN’s former humanitarian chief: “We need to remind all of these people with the power and the guns that this is no chessboard. It is a place where people live.” -
Trump may or not be a buffoon depending on your view and understanding of how he works but he has done wonders for the economy of the USA and will almost certainly be re elected, Pulling most troops out of Syria was the right move, Where they end up is another matter

Don't get me wrong, I think we are a great country with a lot to be proud of. However, we haven't the influence, nor will we ever have again, that we had in the middle of the nineteenth century.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...
