Have Swindon got a bit of money to attract the likes of Williams? He was at Cardiff last season, and I should imagine was on a lot more money than league two clubs pay. Either the fella has taken a big drop in salary (fair play to him) or Swindon have pulled their wallet out. I thought he was excellent yesterday. All over the final third of the pitch, and using his experience to dictate play. Exactly the sort of player I wish we had.

I still think bass is better than either of the other two keepers. He is making errors no doubt. He doesn’t get a free pass. But he is more solid under crosses and gives the back 4 confidence when coming for the ball. He also sits on the outside of the D as a sweeper keeper. Something alien to O Donnell. There were a couple of times balls over the top were met by him booting the ball into the stand. I’ve not seen ROD do that. Again allows us to compress the space more and he can cover the ball over the top.

Shame a few spoilt your day @Rotterdam91@Rotterdam91 I've heard tails of what happens in there which I thought was maybe a little OTT, but you seeing it suggests it does happen.
With regards training trg and select a nice day if you can take an hour or so in watching them train get your autographs and then a beer & coke for you and your young un in the Stanfield Arms .

Putting me miss marple hat on, here is a couple of pieces on the guy
    https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/williams-journey-euros-league-two-24759872

    https://salarysport.com/football/sky-bet-league-one/swindon-town/

So you can see connections matter- first article

Still getting paid well if the second article is to believed £4,000 a week
above what City would pay as our current top earners are Gilliead (stop laughing) and Cook (stop crying) on £3,500

*if salarysport figures are to be trusted*
Swindon had just half of a squad in the summer when Power was forced out but in getting a manager, Garner who knows L1/L2 and having a DOF with football infrastructure at the club they have done so much better at having a go for a top 7 place than ourselves.
    Funny that.

Are you sure you were in the JCT 600 Family Stand? That is actually the main stand. It sounds to me as if you were in the North West Corner, which used to be the family stand but was this season designated as the singing section, where some of our rowdiest supporters congregate. I would be surprised if that happened in the main stand. I have sat in there in the past with no issues.
Your best bet if you want a quiet life on future visits is to buy a ticket in what is officially called the East stand, but which everyone knows as the Midland Road. All very friendly in there. That's where I have sat for the last 26 years. Good views and more leg room too.
To be fair, Watt, our number 18 had his best game for a while! I thought he improved as the match went on. Gareth Evans is number 17 and it was good to see him have a good game after being frozen out by Derek Adams. I thought Gilliead (11) and Callum Cooke (8) played well too. Hoping some of our better players will be back from injury soon, but sadly not much can be done about the defence until the summer.

For those wanting ROD back in then you have to remember Hughes likes to play from the back, and I don't recall ROD being decent with the ball at his feet, and his attempts at finding a player through the air usually ended up in the stands, especially if he is under any bit of pressure

I think you took his post the wrong way. I thought it was very fair.

You are bang right about the squad overhaul needed at the end of the season. And yes I hope Mark Hughes is backed financially but even if we stick with the "sustainability" route he will have pretty much a blank canvas with loans going back and a lot of players out of contract .

It's the Windass effect. Hate him as an opponent - can't wait to get him on your team.

It doesn't even need anything daft. 20% more on the budget, access to Hughes contacts, emphasis on quality over quantity, and better use of the loan market.

If we are serious about promotion, then Rupp could do worse than similar to Lawn. Loan the club a million to be paid back within say 3 years or sale of the club. And should we get promotion say a 15% season ticket increase to help pay back the loan and pay for good quality in league 1. It doesn’t take an owner to throw his or her fortune away, just one who’ll take a calculated gamble and trust those at the club to use it right and the fans to turn up to make a return on said loan.

I have never heard or read that term. I've googled it and can find nothing. Is it a Yorkshire phrase?

I'll bet we're paying Elliot, Robinson, Delfouneso and Perriera more in total. A great demonstration of why quality over quantity is best

You can add Lavery to that on yesterday's performance, good running and positional sense with a little bit off niggle at the right time.
