We need a new man in early next week, I'd like a FA Cup run but IMO it comes secondary to getting this lot to get some sort of consistency going forward, I don't think we'll get dragged into a relegation fight but certain more performances like Tuesday night and today it could happen.

You do appear to have a rotten bunch. They raised their game for their mate and won against Swindon, Grimsby and Wimbledon, even getting a point against Wrexham. But obviously if McDonald hadn't been appointed by then they couldn't be expected to continue putting the effort in. "We tried for four matches, you can't ask for more".
When the new manager comes in I'd fully expect another good little run, with the emphasis on little. Whoever the new man is he must be allowed to get rid of as many bad apples as possible in January.

I'm not sure we have bad apples but we do have players who have come up well short of the majority of Bradford City fans expectations

 

Why am I taking the piss? The point is the club has always had a terrible record against struggling sides long before Rupp. Why is this? Yes, the clubs ownership, structure and strategy must absolutely be questioned. It simply isn't good enough, but the problem of our form against struggling teams has been inherent for many many years.

Basically, this is not a specific Rupp issue.

 

Just watching the York v. Halifax game. What a refreshing change to see two sides putting in the maximum effort, guts, pace and giving entertainment. Puts the City performances of late to shame.
Please remind me, which team is in the football league and which is National League, I'm confused.

Every club up and down the land will have a sense of 'ah its typical us'. We're no different over the longer term. You say you predicted a loss today - many of us did, but not because we're unusually prone to losing games we shouldn't. We're 15th in the league, or we were. No manager. Fresh off of a 4-1 drubbing. Chances are, we're going to lose when we play away.

Beating players of limited talent and temperament isn't going to improve results or morale.

We don't have a gypsy curse, we're just run very badly because we have an absent owner and novice CEO. We recruit players absent of a strategy and we've ended up (again) with a misbalanced and oversized squad that lacks talent and leadership.

 

Wanted to go to this game but wouldn't have made it due to watching us! Sykes-Kenworthy could come back to bite us for letting him go when we are desperate for a back-up goalkeeper.

 

I think 90% of EFL fans think their club always trip up against out of form sides, it's just football and any given Saturday for those clubs. Nothing unique to Bradford City.

For us this season it's because we're actually shite though.

 

Just telling it as I see it, the last two games on paper were games we should have brought points home, and we didn't but what's worse is we were poor in both games apart from a 10/15 minute spell today after we equalised, forgetting the FA Cup our next three fixtures are Barrow who look to be over achieving again at home, followed by Notts County away, and an Accrington Stanley team that is right up there in a play off place.

 

That says a lot about the recruitment strategy

Although there is a lot of merit in what you say, I would be very interested to see the stats for Bradford City and their form against teams on a bad run. I certainly don't have the time to do the analysis, but I personally think it would paint an interesting picture.

Nonetheless, it doesn't excuse the fact we are well short of what is expected of this club right now. That I suppose is the biggest worry.

For those waiting for the January window, I’d like to know what gives you the confidence that anyone at the club knows what they’re doing. Window after window has been a regression on the one before and I get the feeling, last season was shit or bust and we bust. If we don’t have a new team in place by Monday, and I mean getting rid of the backroom staff who’ve offered nothing more than cutting oranges, then we’ll be looking behind and not in front. I thought we’d clicked with K. Mac but it now reminds me of when I played Sunday league football and you got rid of the manager because you thought he was crap, then one of the lads stepped up and you tried for a bit, then got beat and gave up again before ringing the old guy up and seeing if he’ll come back. The only way out of this is a clean sweep top down, then hope the rot hasn’t set in and we fall out of the league.
