By league two striker does he mean currently employed by a league two team or employed by one a league or two above and only good enough for league two ?

 

I'm lost....you seem to be trying to disagree but what you wrote seems to support my point!

Example - player at a club on x amount, agrees to join on lower amount because they're not getting game time/chances in the hope that they'll do well during the season and then can negotiate a much better contract. That would explain why its only a short term contract
