Be interested in what others think but for me, one of the standout positives of the season so far is our use of substitutes. The timing, choice and quality of the changes we make, nearly always has a positive impact on the game. A sign of a quality manager and quality recruitment. And team spirit too.

The introduction of the 5 subs rule too, mean it should be a real advantage to us across the season. Could make a meaningful difference to how our season goes.

I just alluded to this on the Stevenage match thread. Obviously helps that we have such a strong bench but he does seem to make the right subs at the right time

Too be fair I believed , pre season, there wasn’t a role for Yan other than a bench warmer, but you know what, him coming on last 20 or so shores up tired back line legs. Astute use of a warrior imho.
As best they tried they found it hard to pull him all over the place.

In games against very direct opposition, especially away from home, he's probably a better partner for Smallwood than Gillead.

Only in the last 20 for me. His Achilles heel is lack of pace and he can’t get up and down the pitch like Gilly, so that’s why I say last 20.
