I think three things make that result particularly amazing.
Firstly, Chelsea weren't just any PL team. We beat them in the season that they were runaway PL winners.
Secondly, it was the only game they lost at Stamford Bridge all season, in all competitions, including the Champions League.
Thirdly, as Stuart says, it wasn't backs to the wall. We came from 2-0 down and won the second half 3-0.
I was in the front row of our end, with the goal just to my right. Watching those three goals go in from such close range was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. It felt utterly surreal at the time. I have to watch it again from time to time to remind myself that it wasn't a bizarre dream.QCFC BANTAM, Skyebantam, Allotment Bantam and 3 others like this. -

This was a Chelsea team going for a quadruple at the time, a team that comfortably won the PL, a team that didn't lose another game at home all season in any comp. The best team in England, I would argue second only to Barcelona in world football at the time.
This XI was beaten 0-3 in 15 mins:
Cech
Azpilicueta
Cahill
Zouma
Christensen
Fabregas
Ramires
Oscar
Hazard
Willian
Drogba
This was also a Jose Mourinho team. A manager who I believe has never conceded 4 goals at home or lost from a 2 goal lead in his entire career. If you were to name any team in the world that wouldn't have lost from that position it was Chelsea.
It wasn't backs against the wall at all either, there was a 5/10 min period after our 3rd but they never really created that much. Indeed, the next best chance in the game was the Davies header, I still don't know how Cech kept it out - possibly the best save I've ever seen live. Would love to know the xG stats on the game as I bet we would've been ahead fairly comfortably.

We scored the 4th in the 90th minute, it all felt pretty backs to the wall at 3-2 from memory.
Amazing achievement, amazing day. But non league team beating a well established, what is now premier league team who'd won the fa cup season before last and just beaten sheff weds 5-0, is in my opinion, bigger.Stoneski, Craven Cottager and Interested Bystander like this. -

Jon Stead was awesome that day. Watch the last goal, as he holds up the ball, he then puts back spin on it, so it does go to far ahead of yeates, brilliant

Has to be right up there. Everything about that day was amazing from the trip down, seeing the team bus going past the pub by the train station and everyone going nuts to the match itself. Have to say like others I thought we'd get beat but during the match I never really felt that we were backs to the wall. Pandemonium when the 1st 2nd and 3rd went in near us then when the 4th went we went crackers but it was just more disbelief tbh. John Stead showed his class was an awesome display.

I think it must be in the best 2 or 3. We were 2 nil down away to a team 2 divisions above us.
Not only that they were streets ahead in the Premier League and beating everyone they played in Europe at the time.
It was certainly the best FA Cup comeback ever.Keefly Bantam and Stoneski like this. -
