I'd be in for a tenth defender myself.

 

Whilst I agree. Collins seems determined to play only 1 striker, so doubt we will see any additions to come in and sit on bench.
Judging by Wright and Akpan's performances thus far, I would also think there is a need for 2 central midfield players too, as we have been dominated in that area in all our games so far it would seem

It doesn't matter who we sign. The club is completely structured and managed to fail so until the off field and management issues are addressed any signings will struggle to make any impact.

 

This is a big point for me, doubt adding more strikers would help, we need a replacement for Wright....

 

3rd worse in the country.

 

For a team who supposedly wants to play attacking football, Payne, Doyle and Scannell aside, our attacking options are shocking.

And even those three are being made to play out of position too much coupled with a style of play in which they are totally ineffective.

 

Totally agree. Not going to change until we get a proper manager in and let him get on with it.

 

I agree we need a solid new goal scoring striker.

But we also need another defender too in my opinion.

So both of these would be assets, sadly I can't see us making any decent signings for this transfer window.

I think I’m right in saying that the second highest career goal scorer we have on our books is NKP.

Given the state of the current players, what makes you think our management team (I use the phrase loosely) are capable of recognising a decent striker/midfielder/defender if one became available. Even if we got one he would be played out of position.

 

Abbott's your man for deciding who we need and what a marvellous job he does (not). He needs to go now as well.

 

I think it starts with Abbott and nothings going to change till he goes. I don't understand how we arrive at a situation where a "notable midfield enforcer" for the club has ended up being one of the most vilified ex players of all time ? It's the way he's planted himself square and centre in this triumvirate of mediocrity on the touchline. He is the Manager in all but title and both of the "two nodding heads" constantly ear wig with him during games. If we're stuck with the Cones (God help us) then Abbott needs sending to the stands permanent if he's still at the club. But any which way it's Abbott Out in my view because of his weasel ways !

Edin said recently that "teams from the lower divisions should not have to pay for loan players and should instead be allowed to become feeder clubs."

This does not bode well for us AT ALL.
The chances of us getting decent loan players after ridiculous comments like that are about zero. The chairmen have a combined worth of £Hundreds of Millions But they seem determined to not to invest in signings, wages, loans, managers..... either.

Q. How do you run a football club without investing in decent footballers?
