I remember the name from my scrapbooks from when I first started watching as a 5 year old.

Always sad to hear the passing of an ex City player.

    RIP Steve

Although primarily a full back, I'm sure City experimented with him at centre forward.@Bronco might help me with that one!

Yes I believe we did experiment with him at centre forward, he had one hell of a shot on him, according to Wiki he netted 15 times from 90 appearances.

After McCole left and City converted Stokes successfully to centre forward, the club was preoccupied for a number of years with trying every man and his dog to prove similarly successful.

Remember Steve well from mid 60's.
He was a Bradford lad and he became
quite handy at scoring. We sold him to
Southend as a result of his goals.Never
moved up from lower leagues but a good
player for us. Sad to see covid got him.

    R.I.P Steve.

Great pace. In the modern game would be a fantastic wing back. Sad news.

Yes, pace and power. I can't recall why City let him go.

Before my time when it comes to supporting City but probably saw him play when I went to the derbies with my Dad who was a Stan.
I think Steve was from the late Brian Kelly (who I new well) era. Very sad news.

    RIP Steve

My first ever City game was against Doncaster in the league cup August 1966. Who should score our goal, none other than Steve Ingle in a 1-1 draw. Thank you Steve, you were the first of many that I’ve seen score for City since. May you rest in peace.
