The thing with Evans is, it's not 'outrage', it's deep dislike.

People can say they don't like Evans because he flashed a staff member at VP, or they can say they don't like him because he's blatantly corrupt, as he proved at Boston, or whatever else.

But the reality is, a lot of people just hate that particular human being, and don't want him in charge. They don't like the way he treats players, they don't like his antics on the touchline, they don't like the fact he instigated a brawl at VP, lots and lots of things that add up to this: They dislike Steve Evans, and don't want him at the club.

Trying to compare him to every person past or present that's broken the law but still been accepted at VP is missing the mark by quite a distance. It isn't hypocritical to think Evans is a terrible fit for us, but someone who also broke the law might be a good fit. There's more to it than that.

So apparently Sparks listened to those nasty nasty keyboard warriors when sacking Adams. If that's true that he is swayed by the voices of supporters then I also expect not to see him employ Steve Evans.
Personally I think we will see him here, not sure how long for initially.

Remember those times very well, to be called a sh!t stirrer was an all time low ( not by Park I may add) I think most fellow posters know my standing with regards our club I would never post anything to harm our club that I believed was not true.

Irrespective of what Evans is like as a person and in particular his behaviour, then he has been a manager off and on since 1998.

Looking at his CV, then it is now coming up 8 years since he has won promotion and even then it was through the Play Offs.

He has managed four clubs, since then none have been promoted or got into the Play Offs, under his stewardship.

In his last stint, he was sacked by Gillingham, as the club had sunk to 22nd position in League One.

His win rate at the four clubs, that he has most recently managed, has steadily deteriorated, it was 31.8% over his last 129 games.

Evans is now 59 years of age, and his preferred line up is 4-2-3-1 (so the same as Adams).

There is nothing in his CV which suggests that he now has the skill sets to manage a club to promotion.

    What a juvenile argument.

Because we've had players in the past with awful behavior we should now welcome a demonstrably corrupt and abusive manager or be hypocritical?

You obviously don't favour any sort of progression in society.

"There's no room at this club for your common or garden rich teas and digestives. At the very least, we should be aiming for chocolate hob-nobs."

(6 months later, we've yet to see a chocolate hob-nob and are now being assured that a bag of assorted broken biscuits are equally as good.)

All those saying they wouldn’t attend matches if Evans was our new manager….. but they’d attend if Woodgate was the manager??
Woodgate, the man who was convicted of affray where an Asian man found himself in intensive care!? An incident West Yorkshire police treated as racially aggravated in 2001. Do we really want Woodgate to be the manager of Bradford City??? I think not!

Of course it's hypocritical. You've clapped and cheered those who have done far worse than Steve Evans.

Maybe you should have a look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself why you did that?

I must admit im struggling why gropers and wife beaters are ok here yet Evans is not. I still maintain football fans are fickle, the fact the woman assaulters
And armed robbers got made bradford city Idols proves it. The misdemeanours are soon forgotten once “one of us’

The only argument i can see was these other wrong uns werent in as key positions as a manager of the football Club, not something ive heard put forward just references to nastiness and whatever did or didnt happen with a steward which sounds a storm in a teacup tbh.

Or maybe it's just that it's not so much about criminality and more about the fact he's an odious tool who people don't wish to support?

Maybe it's that the memories of Evans' idiocy revolve around VP, whereas Jamie Lawrence committed a crime that had nothing to do with Bradford City and didn't affect fans, no matter how bad the crime.

Trying to muddy the waters with 'criminality' is daft.

It's not about who is most criminal. It's about who is most DISLIKED.

We need to ask him how many years it's going to take to right Rupps time at the club

And on top of all that, his best days in management are long behind him! There is nothing going for him at all!

    You missed the point totally.

Personally I knew nothing about Beagrie and those incidents whilst he was here. Would I have cheered him had I - no.

I am saying we can be progressive and even if you knew those things and still applauded, can subsequently attempt a move into the modern era where any type of misogyny or abuse should be intolerable.

Or do two wrongs make a right in your book?

As I said it's a crass justification. Own it for what it is or you might get accused of hypocrisy yourself.

were not wanting the new head of a primary school just a L2 football manager of our tin pot club. How long is it now since crawley town debacle, time to move on i am unable to muster the dislike for him, i wont be inviting him round for tea anytime soon i dont see why he needs to be nice or indeed liked , do those things really matter if he can get results on the pitch. All ive seen recently Is the guy bigging us up, quite refreshing to see someone who wears their heart on their sleeve so what if theres a bit of History.

    Look forward not back.

You didn't know Jamie Lawrence had been to prison? I do not believe that.

You didn't know Stan Collymore was all over every newspaper for his instances with Ulrika? I do not believe that.

    You're telling porkies now.

They were both very widely reported in the media.

If you were arguing he was a reformed character and we should give someone a second chance that would be different. What you're arguing is that if a manager can win games we really shouldn't care who or what they are.

He's bigging us up cause he wants a job. Please Ryan do not give him one here.
