I'm completed unconvinced that Evans is the right man for the job.
His normal modus operandus is to ship out those he doesn't want and bring in shed loads of new players, usually at considerable cost. He doesn't have that option here, either this season or next.
Nearly all of our players are either loanees or sitting on long contracts, so they don't have to toe the line to win another contract in the summer (assuming that any of them would want one). In these circumstances his bullying, disciplinarian approach won't work.
Our only chance is to bring in someone who the players will warm to and feel motivated to play for. Evans is not that man.

Also, we need all the fans to pull together and back the club and the team. Appointing a controversial arsewipe with his history is guaranteed to sow discord, not harmony.

If Evans is appointed I won't be seen at VP until he's gone. I will buy my season ticket, to retain the seat I like, and wait until he's gone before I sit in it.

 

He's already had it out at VP in front of a women so that's another reason I never want to see the odious tw4t anywhere near VP.
Our club suspended Robinson for an alleged crime and he's no part of the team at the moment.
Robinson could be innocent but Evans received a slap on the wrist from the FA for his misdemeanor so should a person like him be allowed through the doors at VP.

 

Even with the transfer window and loads of our Chairmans cash, he still couldn't manage!

He brought in around 15 players, all on high wages, yet when he walked out on us, the only players he wanted to take were Adam Murrays (the previous Manager) players. He didn't want any of 'his' purchases.
People say it's sour grapes on our part, but the majority of Stags fans were relieved when he went. He's a foul mouthed bully and an embarrassment to our beautiful game.
I like Bradford City, and have done since the Norman Corner days, so really don't want you to fall foul by appointing this idiot and his chum!

Ask Peterborough and Mansfield fans what they think of Evans and his equally odious sidekick Raynor, as they always come as a pair! They will be your worst nightmare. I cant believe any Chairmen falls for his "charms" now. He really isn't a good manager, he is awful and his style is terrible. If you think anything of your club, you will leave well alone.

It's the best thing that happened when he left Mansfield after the alleged "job offer in China"! He is a fake who really hasn't achieved much at all. Good luck, but f you get Evans and Raynor, you will need more than luck believe me.

I would rarther the team be relegated and have Micky Mouse In charge until the end of the season and be in League 2 than have Steve Evans as manager at Bradford City Football club and keep us up.

The hypocrisy on here is breathtaking. This (man) has exposed himself to a member of our staff, and we are supposed to put it to one side, and accept a mediocre manager because we are angry at the players, and this bully will knock some sense into them. Unbelievable! If it was your daughter or wife what then?

We now have pick and mix morals and standards to fit whatever we want.

You have just heard from a fan at Mansfield @Carole telling what a complete and utter waste of space he is as a manager, and how he wasted money on players that were not good enough then buggered off!! Who does that remind you of??

 

Nows not the time to experiment by bringing in someone new to management, just because he was a good player.

We dont necessarily have to go down the dinosaur route, but there are 2 youngish managers available with good experience, and decent records too. I believe we should be looking no further than Hurst or Bowyer, and get one of them in quick, instead of messing about with Drury

Christ you like going in on folk don't you. All I suggested was the club could benefit from a little structure but as you've mentioned them...

Fleetwood owner has invested nearly £20m directly into the club. Gerrard spent £12m on fees, plus whatever else on Jermaine Defoes £100k wage. Lampard has spent the same plus relocated Ashley Cole from the States. Can you not see why a comparison between us and the clubs you have stated doesn't really work at this particular moment in time? We're in the shit with nothing to spend, we're out of the transfer window and are at maximum loans so we can get the odd free agent and thats it, so therefore need to recruit accordingly to ensure we stay in this division.

Also, to suggest Phil Parkinson doesn't have as good a network as them is just ludicrous.

Steve Evans' own words - the guy is shrewd, unlike Hopkin, he isn't going to take a job with naff all money, much less stick around when the wallet looks like closing.

He effectively dropped a division to leave Crawley and join Rotherham, why? Rotherham offered a bigger budget.

He left Mansfield having failed to make the most of a very considerable budget to join Peterborough, where he failed to make the most of a very considerable budget.

It's Evans' right to negotiate with high-spending clubs, more power to him, it provides a greater chance of success - but let's not pretend it's a mystery or a secret that he demands clubs spend beyond their means or he'll leave. He's been caught out once (Boston), and very nearly twice (Crawley).

 

Are all these Steve Evans posts just lazy wind ups? Surely no one would want him here or think he’s the most suited for the job?

Where do your morals start and end? We've had players at the club who've done worse than wave their willy about.

 

I don't particularly like his antics on the touchline and he's been fired from his last two jobs despite good budgets, i'm just curious as to where peoples morals start and stop? If you jump on the moral high horse it usually hurts when you fall off. I can understand fans not liking his demeanour but throwing the word 'morals' into football is laughable. Not aimed at you btw.

 

Correct, but not at the expense of losing half your client base. It will be bad enough getting relegated, but getting relegated after upsetting half of your customers would be business suicide. There is still an element amongst fans that it’s down to Rahic, and Rupp and Rhodes should be given time to turn it around, even if relegated. That good faith would soon disappear for most if evans was brought in, and didn’t turn it around.
