Just remember owners dont grow on trees and good ones even less so - yes Stefan has made mistakes (he has admitted as such) but he has stuck by us. He has the personal wealth to have walked away making a 'loss' but he hasn't, football is not his main interest but I have the feeling he wants to have some success and leave us with a legacy so he can hold his head up on his time with us. I just dont see the value in constantly berating him for the errors he made, we all make them - he has riden them out and he is supporting us through the most difficult time football (and all business) has faced.
For my part I am grateful for this and that he is part of our club

    No, no and no.

Until he gets us back to the position when he took over, I won't forget his part in the regression of this club.

But I will forgive. Too early when we are mid table in the khazi league to have this debate.

There is no suggestion from either Ryan Sparks or indeed others like John Dewhirst who has met him that his only intention is to recoup his money. They both say he is determined to get us back to what we were and there won’t have been many clubs splashing out five figure fees on players as we did in the last window. As long as he doesn’t interfere with team selection which there is zero evidence that he does ,supports Sparks which apparently he does totally, and funds our losses why are people so desperate for change. New owners which would almost certainly be a consortium of local businessmen, as I don’t think rich Arabs are interested in us, would probably get rid of Sparks who is a breath of fresh air and run it their way. So who knows how it would leave us.

    Amazing.

We've gone from one goal away from Championship football to cannon fodder in League Two, but all is well because we've gone on a good run.

You're about two seasons of success early with this thread, my man.

In summary, Rupp went into football in a naive position. He knew very little about football club ownership and relied heavily on Rahic - who let's not forget was part owner.

Mistakes were made and the club has regressed in this time but one thing has remained constant. Rupp's willingness to support the club financially. Once Rupp saw the light of day Rahic was gone and Rupp himself has accepted responsibility for the part he played in instilling too much trust into one man.

This brings us to the present day. We are owned by a man who is now less naive, has the finances to progress us and has invested further into the club at a time where there is so much economic uncertainty. Actions speak louder than words and the actions of Rupp would suggest to me he has learnt many lessons. This is a very important factor for me and I for one am happy with how he is supporting the restructuring of the club.

We look to be progressing and time will tell if this can be sustained, but now is not a time to bring up old grudges. Give the guy a chance and let's see where it takes us.

Rahic was never his mate. Hardly knew him by all accounts, until he allowed himself to be conned into 'the man who knows football's' vanity project. Rupp made a bad business mistake by being taken in by Rahic, but seems honourable in his intentions with us since. Many, many businessmen would just have cut their losses, withdrawn all support and pulled the plug on us way before now. Look at some of the horror stories up and down the country.

Yes, I think that is a fair assessment. I've never wished ill on the man nor ever will.
But as the club show forward momentum, headed by Rupp (it cuts both ways) and the country has light at the end of the tunnel from lockdown, it allows a calmer reflection on things. So many times, Bradford City frustrated the bloody hell out of me and I remain in the belief, that Rupp was as much to blame as Rahic. I voiced off on here but what do I do, when I see the club in bloody dire straits?

Look if Rupp was to move on, good. If he is to stay, then upper half in league 1 is the minimum to atone his mismanagement.

Did we need another thread on him? All it does is bring up the same old arguments. He’s not worth discussing until he does something of note imo, that’s not me being harsh on him I just don’t see creating a thread on him to build positivity towards him when we’re 11th in League 2 as very sensible.

It is not Rupps fault we are in league two and suffered relegation, That blame lies with a chairman who managed to pick 3 duff managers in a row, Although shoulders some blame for not appointing a better chairman CEO to run the club

In law 'Actus reus' can still apply even if 'Mens rea' is not proven. Just because you didn't know you were breaking a law doesn't mean you are not guilty. Rupp was negligent in the running of this club, he had a responsibility towards this club, the history of this club and the fans of this club. He is as culpable as the lunatic he decided was fit to run it.

Let's be honest Rupp was taken for a ride by Rahic who was clearly on a mission to buy a football club, remember we weren't the first club Rahic looked at and a deal for Blackpool was on until even dodgy Oyston refused to sell.

I ain't saying Rupp isn't partly to blame to what we had to endure because he should have done his own homework before allowing Rahic free reign however he has stuck with the club and IMO is trying to right the wrongs. Do I hope he sells yes but only if its to someone with the right interests we don't want another owner like Rahic involved. Sometimes its better the devil you know.

I remember Mark and Julian saying they’d only sell to the right people many times, but obviously money came first. I don’t necessarily blame them we’d all love a nice profit on a predominantly loss making business. Sucks for the fans like when this happens.

You can sell a business without announcing it is up for sale, if he did that current and prospective new players, sponsors, employees would all be wondering about where it leaves them. The ideal scenario is working in the background, some M&A solicitors doing the legals and then an announcement that surprises everyone except those involved in setting up the deal. That’s the way we acquire and sell businesses.

The second point is who is buying league football clubs at the moment? Sunderland went through but that’s the exception. Wigan have been in administration for nearly a year. The PL is becoming a closed shop with a few yo yo clubs, the championship needs money chucking at it if you want to thrive. The Derby owner reckons to have lost £200m. If we get promoted and there is a clear path for fans to return in substantial numbers the market might open up a bit, but unless you’re mad, have money to burn or are a super fan, nobody is buying football league clubs at the moment.

I think we have gone beyond this. The ground is owned by a pension company. This is apparently Flamingo Land, so not owned by GG in person. There will be a lot of regulations and rules as to what can be done with this asset. It is not as simple as dealing with an individual.

Good points. And though I can understand people's anger at him for past mistakes, that was then, this is now. We can't live in the past. That's too often been our problem as a club.

The Administrator at the time of Glasgow Rangers also showed Rahic the door before he moved on Owen Oysten.

The club has started to fill the key positions at the club with forward thinking personnel, investment has been made to the playing side and were progressing on the pitch. Why would anyone want the upheaval and uncertainty a new owner would bring? The old saying "don't bite your nose off to spite your face" springs to mind. As we stand we're one of the better run clubs so let's leave it like that.
