Even if a magic vaccine was found and we could go back to some sort of normality, I dont think even with cheap season tickets we would get anything like 12/13k never mind 20k massive test for Stefan Rupp going forward.

I guess we should have turned down the promotion to the Premiership and given it to more deserving club.

I feel shy of 10k. Economic downturn, apathetic fanbase and fallout of Covid19.

Whilst I agree with a lot of what you about the achievement of those years they came at the cost. Many suppliers and tradespeople lost a lot of money because of a season of mismanagement and without the skill and the sacrifice of certain people we would be treading the path of Park Avenue

More like 6-8k I reckon Dave
Our gradual downturn in form over the last couple of years plus lack of money, jobs, interest will severely come back to haunt us Only forward thinking clubs and of course the clubs with money behind them (not us obviously) will survive a very different game of football awaits !!!!!

    Exactly.

The daily briefing on the Covid 19 crisis isn't led by 'communication' experts. It is led by ministers and occasionally the prime minister. It's they who rightly carry the responsibility, not their communications experts. And that's what is expected from us all because it's so important to all of us. And the same applies to our club. I expect the top 2 executives - Rupp and Rhodes - to be dealing with the important messages and not for it to be fronted by a communications expert.

Which is why I welcomed the Rhodes piece. And more so than the one by Rupp because of its content. I thought it represented an honest opinion of the current position. And I hope we hear more from JR over the coming weeks in a similar vein as the club's own mini crisis unfolds. I don't know Ryan but I have heard one message from him which was of importance to me both personally and professionally and that was his promise that the 'next financial accounts' would be full ones rather than the bare minimum, abbreviated ones we've been served up recently. And guess what turned up when the 'next financial accounts' were published a few weeks ago? More abbreviated, bare minimum, say nothing financial accounts.

Ryan didn't or couldn't deliver on his earlier communication promise and that's what I base my judgement of people on. Not fine words being spoken, but promises being kept.

As are 71 other FL clubs, we’re all in the same boat. No company survives very long without income. Let’s hope a solution is found soon so all clubs can be secure.

I don’t know if it is intentional or just your usual trick of defending the club at every turn, but you’re spectacular missing the point as is wethabywhaler which is more worrying considering the position he has held in the club before now. But I’ll spell it out if I have to not that I should need to.

When a business is on the line you should here from the CEO/Owner/Director not the head of PR and communication which is just a marketing man. It’s Sparks job to sell season tickets not bark like a dog or tell us how safe the club is.

We received an email from our CEO a couple of weeks back regarding our current position and how it is likely to effect us in the short to medium term, we have a marketing department, but as with any professional business I expect the leaders to lead.

To give a metaphor, if a ship hits an iceberg it’s the captain’s job to inform the passengers to head for the life boats, not the PR man he’s done his job selling the cruise to the customers.

With that mindset we may as well sign up to the Bradford Sunday alliance league. As long as we aren't scared of losing then everything is rosy?

I'm absolutely astounded at the lack of ambition and will to succeed from some of our fans. It's like the football is completely irrelevant and they only attend out of habit with no real emotion attached to the real reason they are actually walking through the turnstile.

Because the paying customer he's so desperate to retain would like to hear directly from him now and again. Surely that's enough of a reason?

I knew when Ryan Sparks said his job is now to talk relay the thoughts of owner and CEO that it was asking for trouble and a dumb move by the club.

No fan really cares what Ryan has to say.

Bradford City is a SME business and it's unacceptable that the owner and the CEO don't speak up or communicate with fans often.

I shop I am receiving emails from the CEO of Sainsbury's and Waitrose at this moment not the marketing team.

You know that Bradford City are in the wrong @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler and this needs addressing in the short term and hopefully long term of the club. Fans want to hear from Rupp or Rhodes going forward.

    Nice post.

I don't see why mine is unacceptable though.

I understand your points, but I disagree with the sentiment.

Interesting that Mr Sparks is communicating. With that in mind, I assume he is not furloughed?? Thus as a club, we are paying his wage rather than the 'government incentive'.

In deep troubled financial times, I'm sure that Mr Sparks is as much at risk of being layed off /made redundant as most employees within an organisation. Do we need a head of communications at this time?? Can our CEO, not speak on behalf of the club?

Difficult choices, I'm sure. For the record. I'm not suggesting that Mr Sparks is layed off. Period.

Why are you that bothered really?

You have openly called all the hierarchy of the club a joke and not fit for purpose. So why do you want to hear what they have to say?

You have openly said you would sue the club if you could.

You have openly said you have answers to cash flow issues (I really doubt you do) but refuse to offer them unless the club pays you.

If I felt like that then the last place I would be visiting is this forum.

Why don't you contact Ryan directly and have a man to man chat about how you feel the club is being run and what you think could be improved. It won't cost you a penny.

All these people that are saying they have heard from various CEOs etc are you actually believing they have done it them self and not just had their name put on it?

so basically the complaint is that the messages are coming out on Ryan’s social media accounts rather than the club one with the tag line of
    thanks Julian?
