Skipton Area Recommendations

    We are having a week in the Dales, based in the Skipton Area.

    I am looking for quality establishments for as follows . Have car so driving not an issue but

    Sunday Lunches
    Decent Pubs ( Not Wetherspoons!)
    Evening meals , either pubs or restaurants, British, Chinese and Indian.

    I tend not to trust online reviews.
    Any ideas would be welcome please.

    The curry restaurant near the rendezvous hotel is owned by omar khan. Went to the opening do a few years ago the food was cracking that night but not been since. The masons in Gargrave is OK as is the pub in Hellifield (the name escapes me). Have a great time back in God's own

    Thanks for the recommendations Chippy. Wife born in Skippy and I spent a lot of my early years in the Dales. If it wasn’t for the kids being settled in the South we would have moved back up to the Dales, no question.

    When we've been down we have had a walk beside the river to the Fountaine Inn , Linton and never been disappointed.

    I would Dave but it would mean seeing the twins , and our son and daughter much less often. 80 mile away is bad enough as it is but they can hardly pop round for a stop over with a 500 mile round trip involved!

    It’s a shame, but not doable sadly.

    I feel your pain. My grandson is in London, as will be our impending granddaughter in a few weeks time.

    The Angel at Hetton is a fairly short drive from Skipton if you fancy a posh evening meal. I've not eaten there myself since the new owners gutted the beautiful old pub and turned it into a big dining room, but @millario@millario and others seem to rate it highly.

    Thanks Offy . Table booked at Bizzie Lizzies fish and chips restaurant tonight . They still do the original “ cakes” apparently!
