Signings so far

Looks good to me so far.... I'd love to see another two or three strikers coming in though, depending on the Wyke situation. Think you need at least 4 decent strikers to make a mark on any league

 

McGowan and Jones will be 'like new signings' as well, given their injuries last season

Looks good? Based on what? How many of the players have you heard of before this summer? How many will you expect from to start?

These MAY be good signings, but to call that squad ‘good’ based on very little and hope alone?

 

Still very much a 5 / 10 squad for me.
They remain names on a 'squad sheet' until we can see what they can deliver on the pitch.

A good team will regularly deliver 7 / 10 performances. We've yet to see one.

 

As much as it galls me to agree with you, on this occasion I have to. Let’s not make this a regular occurrence.

 

I love this phrase. So what do we call the inevitable long term injury(ies) to BCFC player(s) for the forthcoming season?

Maybe McGowan or Jones may suffer again.

 

As long as we don’t have the almost unprecedented injury list of last season we seem to have the numbers to cope

Alright mate, chill out... I didn't say it was good did I? I said it *looks* good *so far* and also that I felt we needed at least 2 or 3 just in one position, a fairly minor statement of hope for the coming season. The signings so far (on paper) look good, (on paper) the signings we have made are better than or equal to the players they have replaced and are of a better age. We're finally looking to the future rather than the next 6 months, at which point we'd need to sell our best players unless we can cobble together a cup run. The training facilities are being sorted out. The pitch is actually finally getting done properly (fingers crossed!!), we're not on the brink of administration, the club will definitely exist in 12 months (not always been the casein my time supporting us), the sun rose this morning and the sky hasn't fallen in. Even bloody England are doing well. So yeah, excuse me if I go 'you know what, maybe things might just be alright, I'm looking forward to seeing how the season pans out'. Just cos some of you lot are miserable gits doesn't make the rest of us happy clappers!

I had you on ignore for a few weeks (it was like a mini holiday), but everyone in my my ignore list got a reprieve.

Firstly, I am ‘chilled’ so no need to chill out.

Secondly, I did quote you as saying “looks good”. I just don’t see what looks ‘good’. We have signed some decent players for this level, as many thought we had done this time last summer. The remainder are all finger in the air and HOPE that they live up to their potential. Seeing as none have had any real experience at any competitive level, this doesn’t necessarily “look good” to me. Exciting, possibly, but not good.

As for signing 2 or 3 more strikers, what planet are you on? The next time a big white fluffy cloud comes past, I suggest you jump on it and see if you can find a rainbow coloured unicorn whilst you’re up there.

We won’t be signing 2 or 3 more strikers with 5 or 6 already in the squad.

 

Out of interest what is your take on the squad to date?

 

We had plenty of cover last season, the problem was they were not of the same quality as those they were replacing.

 

Going on last nights appearances, that is going to be our problem this year. We would appear to have plenty in number but have we got sufficient numbers of quality.

 

I agree although there were some players out last night who you would expect to be starting or on the bench.

 

I’d like to see another couple of additions in the forward positions. Attacking midfield and another to assist Wyke.
