    You asked who would be taking set pieces and stated that the reason you were asking was because of Payne's poor free kick yesterday. That suggests to me you don't think it should be him.

    I actually said "curiosity sparked by" which in essence means it got me thinking - I hadn't given it any thought before then. It was an atrocious free-kick, fact, but I didn't dismiss him. You're inferring things I said, and then criticising me based on your inferences.

    I didn't criticise you, I questioned why you were dismissing someone on the basis of one poor free kick in a pre season friendly. I then explained why your post came across (to me) in that way.

    Let's just agree to disagree - I was only trying to spark a discussion on who'd be taking them. I wasn't dismissing anyone. Either way, my thoughts are that we don't have any experienced free-kick/corner takers. Wyke is the obvious choice for penalties.

    I think Payne could be a decent free kick taker, despite his howler yesterday which lets face it, even the best free kick takers have from time to time. Wright can take a penalty so may be the choice if Wyke leaves. I believe he has also taken a fair few corner kicks in his time too.

    Definitely. Seedorf's weren't terrible against Sheff Utd though, might be something there. Though he's our quickest player and I'm not sure how much he'd offer inside the box for set-pieces, so I'd preferably see him kept back to stop any counters.

    Btw, I hope Payne got a rite ribbing off his team mates for 'that' effort. Brilliantly, terrible!
