Nice one Rod, we all have a tale to tell, especially when a long distance move, work, family, and indeed falling out of love with football forces absence.
One thing that never left me was the club itself, strange may it seem? I was born some 50 yards from, and grew up around the ground and it’s confines. So it is, in a strange way, my “ home”, thus part of my “ family”. That affinity will never die, it’s too late, it’s there for life!

 

Sorry @Storck I forgot to mention you, if @Zonnebloem let's on I'll point you out although I know you missed a few home games last season.

 

My dad pasted away and I still young. It's tough as mate at any age I suppose and Fathers day is a nightmare. However, what gets me through is the thought of my dad not wanting to see me upset or crumble. Nothing, wrong through.being upset though but it seems like your support network is disappearing but you have us and me mate. I might give it out to you at times but you are part of the Bantam Talk family and highly respected.

As you say its good to talk and sometimes in life you need to talk to people that just say it as it really is.

If you don't feel like going to games because its not right for you then don't go. Do something else or find something else that will help you take your mind off things or be with a new support network. No harm in that mate. I renewed because of habit not because of the marketing of Bradford City but going or not we are still all a Bantam and hope Hughes can deliver. I have given up on Rupp and Sparks. It's all down to Hughes.

 

What the hell have you done with Fordy? Give him back!!!!

Bless you Roger, I know I don't know you at all apart from postings on here but, for any faults it may have from time to time, it provides one essential component we all need in life - communication. I lost both my mum and dad in recent years and my brothers are all in the north of England so yesterday was tough. But our club is a key part of my life and although I cannot put a face to most of the names on here (perhaps a blessing ) it still provides a bond, a comfort, a laugh, occasionally an anger - but most of all a communication with people.
I wish you as much joy as possible following City in season ahead (I have a good feeling about it) but most of all I wish you, and anyone else on here who is going through struggles, growing peace and contentment in your lives
